I'm just thinking out loud, basically, but I've been pondering all just how much Coach G has been able to accomplish in the short time he's been here. We've landed two big-time recruits, and practically overnight, UK went from hardly being on any recruits' radar screen to everytime we turn around we hear of UK being given serious consideration.
Plus, I watched the replay of the Texas A &M/Texas game this past season and I started envisioning seeing that upbeat, fast-paced style once again having free reign in Rupp and terrorizing SEC opponents.
If take all of that and extrapolate it out over the course of Billy G's tenure, even if you do it modestly, the possibilities are endless and it definitely looks like UK is going to be back where it belongs, at the top of college basketball, and we look to stay there for quite a while.
Geez, I'm getting excited just typing this out.
Just a few comments. Humor me on this. :icon_mrgreen::widcat:

Billy G has landed more than two big-time recruits. He landed two for just '07.

In fairness to Tubby, he didn't have a fully finished practice facility to show off. I also feel his enthusiasm was probably lacking a great deal with the circumstances around the program. Add that to the perceptions that many recruits would have from various sources and it sort of explains a little.
Even so, I don't think Tubby could have or would have generated this much activity even on his best day. Maybe right after winning the title and the practice facility was finished he would have?
Coach G is evidently one heck of a salesman and I am pleased as heck. I do wish Tubby success though and hope his recruiting goes well also.

Good points, freethrow. I, too, wish Tubby nothing but success.

What a nice post, freethrow. Too, I don't think being nice is ever the wrong way to go.:thumbup: to you.
Having said that, I don't think ANY coach could recruit as aggressively as Coach Billy G. I also agree that Coach Gillispie is "one heck of a SALESMAN." Like you, I am "PLEASED as heck" with our NEW coach. :icon_biggrin: GO CATS! GO BILLY G!
