Rivals '09 rankings
Rivals.com has added to and updated its Class of 2009 rankings and there are a few players with local ties among the top 75.
There are no Kentucky players in the tp 75, which is about right on the mark. I don't believe any player in that class if talented enough to be in the top 100 nationally right now.
As far as the local recruits, there are plenty.
Louisville is involved in a number of the players, including Xavier Henry. The 6-foot-6 Oklahoma City guard is ranked No. 2 in the new listings.
Others the Cardinals are after include: No. 5 DeMarcus Cousins of Birmingham, No. 8 Kenny Boynton of Pompano Beach (Fla.), No. 9 Leslie McDonald of Memphis, No. 20 Isaiah Armwood of Baltimore, No. 24 DeShawn Painter of Norfolk (Va.), No. 32 Shawn Williams of Duncanville (Texas) and No. 64 Victor Rudd of Sylmar (Calif.). The one U of L commitment from the '09 class - Lamont Jones - isn't ranked among the top 75.
Kentucky is also listed with a bunch of the '09 top players, including Cousins and Williams.
The Wildcats are also on the list for No. 12 Daniel Orton of Oklahoma City, No. 24 Lorenzo Brown of Alpharetta (Ga.), No. 41 Stephen Van Treese of Indianapolis, No. 49 Greg Echenique of Newark (N.J.). UK's commitment - G.J. Vilarino - also isn't listed.
