LEXINGTON – Kentucky second baseman John Shelby is considered one of the nation’s top collegiate prospects for the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft according to a recent ranking released by Baseball America.
Shelby is considered the No. 43 junior in the country after a stellar sophomore campaign that saw him lead UK in nearly every offensive category. It is the second time this preseason he has been recognized by Baseball America as he was named an All-American as well.
