We need a good big man and a big man that can come in and play right away. Zeller will be a perfect fit. Let's let him know how we feel, he will and can be one of the most gifted and popular players to wear the blue and white. When you think of Kentucky big men you think of Issel, Robey, Mashburn, Walker, Padgett, Bowie. Magloire, Walker, Phillips, Mohammed and many, many others. Hopefully one day Tyler Zeller will enter that list.

Tyler, come be a part of college basketball's winnigest program, join the hottest coach in America Billy Clyde, be on television every game, practice at the best facilities in america, live in Wildcat Lodge, play with Patrick Patterson up front and your family can take the "short" drive to the the "Mecca" of college basketball, Rupp Arena, to watch you play. Come live in thoroughbred country, Bluegrass country and more importantly where basketball is a way of life.

Welcome aboard Tyler!!!!!!

:widcat: I would like to second the invitation to Tyler to come and join the Big Blue Nation. You posses the talent to make an immediate impact on the greatest college basketball program of all time. I hope you decide to wear Kentucky Blue and give us four great years to remember as Cat fans, but whatever you decide to do, I wish you success.

A good big man will really do well with all the guard talent we have now plus the ones coming in. They could help Zeller meet and exceed expectations. Hopefully he will see it that way too!

Zeller is one of the more key recruits we've ever sought imo. We obviously are going to be super talented on the perimeter. We need this kid badly.

While I agree it wouldnt hurt to land Zeller, I would rather have Dunnigan. He has a better build and according to everyone else he carries a mean attitude. AKA a taller Magloire. Zeller, while good, seems like he would get pushed around in the SEC

I like Dunnigan, but he's only 6'9, not really tall enough to play center, IMO. I love him as a power forward though, but we have Patterson.

Seems to me 6'9" with the right build and attitude is more than big enough to play center in college.

Would you turn down Wes Unseld (for example) for height if he walked through that door?

NO, but I don't think this guy will be Wes Unseld. I just think that we need a true 6'11-7 foot legit center to be a great team. Most title winning teams have a true center with some size to lead the way. 6'9, IMO, as a center would hurt you against certain teams that have bigger, taller centers.

If he is long enough and mean enough it will not matter. He will push the other guys out of the way and grab the boards over them if he thinks the ball is his

Tyler Zeller, you should definitely give strong thought to becoming a wildcat! Kentucky is on the up and up as quickly as any program going right now, and you wouldn't want to miss out on that. This is opportunity of a lifetime given the timing, and you owe it to yourself to come visit the campus, tour the 1st class facilities, and feel the excitement, charisma, and class of UK's fans!

Go CATS!

When we won it all in 1996, we did it with two PF's (McCarty and Walker) and basically 3 guards (Anderson, Epps and Delk). It's good to bring a center off the bench (Pope and Mohammed). Louisville won it all in 1980 without a true center.

Eh, depending on where you look, Dunigan is listed between 6'9" and 6'10" and he's pretty beefy already. I don't think size is a huge issue.

......so you're saying "size doesn't matter"?......nevermind. LOL

6'9 is plenty tall enough to play center..there are many in the country now..no reason we cant get both...we need more big people, not guards..

One thing I'll say about size, colleges always exaggerate the height of a player. I've seen many kids list out at 6'9 in college and then on draft night they are listed at 6'7 or 6'7.5. I remember when Georgetown had Matumbo and Mourning and were beaten by Xaiver (Carlos Strong and Tyrone Hill) both Hill and Strong were listed 6'10 and 6'11 and when draft night came they shrunk to 6'7 and 6'9.

Bottom line is, can you play?
