We here at Kentucky Sports Radio hope that this 4th of July finds you with family, friends and slices of Americana. For me, I will be on a plane towards the great Las Vegas with the Turkey Hunter and others, about to celebrate all that is happy and good about this beautiful country of ours. During these next few days there is a lot of info that could come in and we will be ready to give it. But here are a couple of notes for your Fourth…..
(1) Leonard Washington will be making his decision on Friday and by all accounts, it will likely be either Ole Miss or Kentucky. If Leonard had his druthers, was able to be academically on sound footing and there were no other issues, I think Kentucky would be the pick. However there are still these issues and that may send him in another direction. From all I hear, Kentucky still likes Washington and would like to have him on the team…..but whether it happens may still be determined by some diving into his academic qualification likelihood. We shall see……
(2) Spoke with someone close to Tyler Zeller today who told me that his two leaders are Purdue and Kentucky at this point, but that UNC and Kansas will likely also be factors. This recruitment, unlike some of the others we have discussed, will take a while. I dont expect a decision until late fall. Tyler is this year's Patrick P…..better get used to hearing his name.
