I love this quote:
“They’ve given one of the hottest young coaches in the country a machine gun or an atomic bomb to work with,” says Wes Grandstaff, Clarke’s AAU coach with Team Texas. “I don’t see any kid that’s a basketball junkie visiting that place and leaving there not wanting to go to school there.”

The heat is on. And it's going to get a lot hotter for Self, Pitino, Krhfhjhfdghijod, Roy Williams...I got tired of typing. Let's just say if I were a major college coach, Gillispie at UK would have me very nervous. Starting to seem like an unbeatable combination.

This is by far the best and most enjoyable article I have read about our coach and the basketball world. I couldn't be more stoked if someone stuck my sorry butt in the campfire and poked me with a stick.

Coach G has them shivering in their boots, that's for sure. And he's not even started yet.

Sometimes in College Basketball you get the perfect storm as they say. At Kentucky you have that with Billy G. and staff. You have a hungry staff and a hungry fanbase. In 10 years I would not be surprised to see multiple new banners hanging from the rafters of Rupp.

This could be a tough time for Kansas fans. While Self will never have trouble bringing in top recruits, he may lose many more than expected with Gillispie around. Working under him, Gillispie probably knows all of Self's tricks, and likely has more than a few of his own. Both likely make similar selling points (traditional school, etc. etc.), and Gillispie probably has the edge.

Yes, I LOVE it! Also, I suspect PLENTY of coaches are "shaking in their boots" since the Gillispie hire. :icon_biggrin:
Too, still again, I LOVE the way you "talk" here on our site, Gunsmoke. Laughter is a VERY GOOD thing for the soul. :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol: GO CATS! GO BILLY G!
