Can't believe this one is over if UK eventually ends up offering.

RV, with us having probably no more than 15 incoming for 08, we aren't taking many prospects at any position. Thus I'm guessing we have 2-3 OLmen we think more of & think we're getting - Trevino for one & Ulinski as another.

I'll be surprised if we don't sign 20 or more. We have a history of over signing and attrition always happens.

I read that we have a max of 12 SRs on scholarship & that Sexton is getting one leaving 11. Throw in 4-5 attrition & you're at 15-16 slots. Net, over-signing to above twenty is a lot. I recollect we signed about 28 for 25 slots last season.

Maybe the kid is not as good as the other linemen UK has their eyes on. He is listed as a one star. I wish the kid well and hope that he has a healthy career.

You obviously haven't done any research on Thompson. He's been blowing up on the camp circut this summer. He goes to one of the smallest football playing schools in the state and didn't really bloom until last year. He's worked hard and is getting a lot of attention. Don't be suprised if some of the big boys don't swoop in and try and snag him away from the Hoosiers. Maybe the kid is not as good as the other linemen UK has their eyes on. That's great for him. But it does nothing to invalidate boomdaddy's point, i.e., it's not what we think but what the staff thinks.

Except that we lost out on some good ones last year that we should have offered earlier and we ended up signing a couple of guys that nobody else offered. That's great for him. But it does nothing to invalidate boomdaddy's point, i.e., it's not what we think but what the staff thinks.

We lost James shepard to Purdue...

I respectfully disagree and so does the rest of the college football world. Hibbard was considered a 3 star and got offeres from SEVERAL big 10 schools. HIbbard didn't get an offer from anybody besides UK VERY late in the game.I've seen them both and we ain't the ones did the missin'.

"I recollect we signed about 28 for 25 slots last season."

Actually, we signed about 28 for 15 slots last season. The other 10 slots were opened up by attrition.

I could be wrong, but I think you misinterpreted RV's point.
