Thanks for the heads up. That seems strange though, because I thought the polls were all released on Monday evening. Do you know if the women's coaches poll has a different release time? ESPN still had last week's poll up as of early this morning.

AP comes out on Monday. USA Today/ESPN comes out Tuesday, usually late in the day.
I'm so proud of what the lady Cats have accomplished this season. Giant steps upward in the SEC compared to the last several years. But it's hard to complain about any rankings we get (or not) when we have that 30+ point lossto Georgia in early Feb. If we'd played that game close, we'd be up there in the rankings I think.

I agre the blowout to Georgia looks bad but it wasa young team coming off the euphoria of beating UT, playing on the road versus a top 15 team. Not a great surprise really. Also, four road wins in the SEC is pretty darn impressive, and, IMHO, any team in 4th place in the SEC deserves some national consideration. Obviously, the AP voters and the RPI formula are doing that (only 3 spots out of top 25 in AP) but the coaches are a little slower to take notice. I've always felt coaches polls - men's & women's - are the least reliable. By their own admission most coaches are too busy with their own team to worry about what other schools are doing outside of their conference. A lot of them don't even cast a vote but instead turn the task over to someone in the sports information office. Anyway, the Cats are like a hot stock...ON THE WAY UP! KEEP MOVING FORWARD, LADIES!

I don't konw that the blowout from Georgia was as much an issue as losing at home to Florida that same week. That one hurt. Vandy is two spots below us in the SEC standings, but ranked in the top 25. I think consistency is probably the thing that has held folks back from giving UK too much. We've had some great wins, but at least hree of our losses (Auburn, Florida both at home, Wake Forest) have been teams we should have beaten.
I'd like to hope that we'll get a favorable NCAA seeding. I'd rather have that than a ranking at this point.

Good points. You are probably right about the home losses to Florida and especially Auburn. Consistency is the problem as it always seems to be with a young team. Hopefully they are maturing at a fast rate because consistency is essential for any kind of postseason success, SEC or NCAA tourney. Of course, if last years run in Women's NIT is any indication, DeMossmayknow what it takesto keep them focused during a toruney run. Also, most of these girls (Ormerod is a great example) come from programs that have been successful under the glare of torunament lights. Here's hoping!
