1) It appears as though UK and Leonard Washington (SF, 6′6) have parted ways for the most part. The Wildcats were expected to hear on whether or not the 6-foot-6, 190 pounder would choose Kentucky or Ole Miss today, but the announcement has been delayed because of academic issues.
4) My favorite recruit this year is Alabama's Courtney Fortson (5-11, 175), who dominated the UK Elite camp at point guard. He's ranked the 5th best uncommitted point guard in the class of 2008 and 16th best point overall by Scout.com. He's got all the goods and after talking with him a few nights ago, it appears the Wildcats are the team to beat. He saw the Wildcats facilities and certainly got an up close and personal look at Coach Gillispie at the camp. Right now he's got Tennessee, Missouri, Texas, Florida State and Cincinnati on his list and insists he's open but you can tell in his voice that the Wildcats are towards the top. If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing his game, be sure to watch some video. He's outstanding and reminds me of the small UAB guards that gave UK fits a few years ago.
