UMass would have agreed to delay the rematch for a year or two so Gillispie can settle in as UK coach, Ford said. But he said he can't get Gillispie or a UK administrator to return his repeated phone calls.

Stricklin said Barnhart had not heard from Ford and, if he did, would be happy to explain the situation. :shrug1::confused:

It may be a generational thing, but I much prefered the "spare style that was full of information and devoid of verbal pyrotechnics" of Ingle (and John Tong, who did UL games during roughly the same period of time) to all the sound and fury (with little substance) that passes for announcing today.
