Some obersvations from games (I will be updating from the top):

More on this one later but just talked to Texas guard Willie Warren. He said his recruitment is opened but his quote was "Louisville is higher than Kentucky right now." Warren at one point had been rumored to be close to committing to UK (in May). He said UK hasn't been eliminated but he didn't "know how much I wanted to share minutes." Warren said U of L has gotten involved in the picture and he'd like to play for coach Rick Pitino and "they're recruiting Tyreke (Evans) and he'd be fun to play with."
The best game of the day was when Kentucky beat Maryland (yes, the teams are given college names) 68-66 in sudden death when freshman-to-be LaQuinton Ross scored on a layup. Warren and future U of L player Samardo Samuels are on Ross' team.
Pitino had a huge smile on his face when Samuels picked up a loose ball under the basket, squeezed it with both hands an slammed it home. He muscled it in over two defenders.
Oklahoma guard Rotnei Clarke can flat shoot the ball. He's 6-foot-3 and averaged more than 30 a game in high school. He's showing this week that he's perhaps the best shooter in the country and that he also has plenty more to his game.
Yes, LeBron is that good. He played some pick up with the college counselors and at times he put on a show. He was playing hard and talking to all the other guys about what they needed to do, what they did wrong or just little tips. Was fun to watch.
OK, forgive me for stopping this blog fora few minutes. I have to write a story for the paper and LeBron James - yes, live and in person - is playing pickup with a bunch of the college campers. He just had a dunk and the next time down the floor shot a three-pointer that missed the rim. He has the attention of everyone in the building during the break!
University Heights star Scotty Hopson is the only player from Kentucky at the camp. He just told me he's still committed to Mississippi State and "doesn't know where all the rumors get started," about him not going to Starkville. Hopson has been the talk of the camp, putting on several unbeliavable performances.
Remember the name Dexter Strickland. He's a junior guard from Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick and he's really good. U of L has been mentioned in his recruitment.http://www.courier-journal.com/blogs/demling/blog.html

Rotnei Clarke is 6'3"? Has he grown? He looks a lot shorter than 6'3" in the videos I watched. Maybe they were old, but Rotnei Clarke at 6'3" is VERY different than Rotnei Clarke at 5'11".

Willie Warren, who I've been an advocate for for a long time, must be REALLY misinformed to think that he'll be "sharing minutes" at UK, but will only be "playing with" Tyreke Evans at UL. I can see him not wanting to share minutes at UK, but to think he'd dodge that at UL is ridiculous.

In truth, all recruits consider the minutes issue at some point, Warren just happens to have, as his mom said, a big mouth)
