Ohio LB adds SEC offer

Lewis Center (Ohio) Olentangy outside linebacker Drew Stevens has added two new offers, including an offer from an SEC program.

"I have two new offers from Ohio and the University of Kentucky," Stevens, who is 6-foot-4 and 218 pounds, said. "I already had offers from Akron and Kent, so the new offers are really exciting. I also have high interest in Boston College, Michigan State and Pitt."

Stevens, who has a 34-inch vertical leap and a 3.10 grade-point average, isn't going to rush the recruiting process...

Drew Stevens likes Kentucky and, to be perfectly honest, thought he might have received a scholarship offer from the Cats by now. Instead, he's not sure where he stands with UK but would like to find out soon.

Hailing from Lewis Center, Ohio, Stevens is a 6-foot-4, 220-pound linebacker/running back described by Ed Terwilliger, his coach at Olentangy High School, as a "tough-nosed player, who likes to hit, but also knows how to play with his head." Terwilliger kept using the same words over and over when talking about Stevens – "He's a good one".

Kentucky's last chance to see Stevens in person was at camp, but his visit to Lexington came at the conclusion of an insane tour of college towns – seven camps in eight days. The road trip included stops at Michigan State on June 9; Ohio State, June 10; Cincinnati June 12; Purdue, June 13; Indiana, June 14; Kentucky, June 15; and Vanderbilt on June 16...

The first article, which stated that UK had offered a scholarship, is dated July 3. The second one, dated July 27, says Drew Stevens "thought he might have received a scholarship offer from the Cats by now." :shrug1: I tend to suspect the more recent article is more accurate.
