no clue. I do know that Roy Williams is sitting next to him. And by the way--I respect the media but a lot of times they just print or post incorrect or skewed information. Case in point!

The mistake is by yahoo. The AP realized it's mistake minutes after uploading the pictures for use by it's members. It then sent out a message explaining the mistake and asking it's member media outlets not to use the picture.

The photographer made a mistake (I know that never happens to any of you at your work) and then corrected it soon after. Yahoo should have taken the pics down, but hasn't.

Photographers should know who they're going to shoot. If you are unsure then swallow your pride a bit and ASK SOMEONE THERE.

C'mon man!

I thought I might have made a mistake once, but I was wrong.

Is the guy to the left and behind the "photo of Gillispie" ordering take-out?

I wouldn't be surprised if that's what happened. Imagine you're at the camp and you see someone who you think might be Gillispie. You ask someone close by, "Hey, is that Billy Gillispie?" and the guy you asked mistakenly tells you, "Yeah, that's him."

And whamo. Mistake.

If you are really a professional, you don't need to ask. You do your homework before. I'm sure this guy/gal lost a lot of business with this mistake. Hopefully he/she learned by this mistake and will do their homework in the future.

Obviously, you don't know much about the news business and how the AP operates.

The AP photographer was probably given an assignment that day to "go out to this camp and get a picture of Billy Gillispie." He was probably told when to go there and where the location was and not a whole lot else.

It likely wasn't his only photo assignment of the day either, as AP photographers shoot all sorts of assignments from sports to politics to car crashes. AP photographers do a little everything and thus, can't really be an expert at everything, like most of us are experts on UK basketball.
