Came out a while ago, but I never saw it posted. Redick #1?

Salim Stoudamire was probably the best I've ever seen.

Chris Lofton has a chance to go down as one of the best ever if he keeps the pace he's set. The thing about Lofton is that he can shoot as well with somebody in his face as he does wide open. He has that step-back three down to an art, and it'll be interesting to see if the added three point distance has any effect on him.

Funniest line I've heard about Lofton is when Jay Bilas commented after one of his threes, "There's another Chris Lofton lay-up." :icon_mrgreen:

One who'll never be on one of these lists but could make honorable mention: Brendan Plavich of Vandy/Charlotte.

I'm surprised bobby hurley didn't crack the top 10. he shot 40% career and 42% over his last 2 years. always seemed to make some big ones. I don't agree with the ruling out of players who only had a year or two after the rule. alford was an unreal shooter, and probably would have shot 45-50% career threes. if these players were allowed then you'd have to consider King Rex too, who shot 40% 3's over two seasons.

There are lots of players who could have made the list. Tony Delk shot 39.4 % at UK, certainly better than others on the list.

Does Delk hold the UK record for most 3's made? He would have been my UK nomination.

Watching '3D' Dennis Scott as a kid, I would have put him number 1. Good to see Rifleman and Allan Houston there as well.

Yes, Delk has 283, followed by Bogans with 254.

Career percentage leader is Cameron Mills, 47.1%

Delk is just a tad under 40%

I find it amazing that the All-time record holder for 3-pointers made during the NCAA tournament, Lee Humphrey isn't even in the top 10. Everyone who watched the gators routinely knows that without Humphrey Florida wins 0 National Championships! And I am a Florida Fan!!!! For how great Duke is supposed to be by all of those in the country and how they "dominate" the tournament and are routinely playing 3 or 4 or 5 games in tournament, if Reddick is so good and had so many opportunities then why doesn't he old the record. Everyone that debates any sport always says that regular season numbers are nice but what you do in the playoffs is what counts. If you go by that Reddick shouldn't even be in the top 10 let alone #1!!! On the other hand watching Chris Lofton shoot is about as pretty as it gets.

The best shooter I've ever seen is Travis Ford. Tony Delk would certainly be up there, too.

This is an interesting discussion to me. so much that I took the time to go to the record books :(http://www.ncaa.org/library/records/basketball/m_basketball_records_book/2007/2007_m_basketball_records.pdf
and check out the numbers for myself. It appears that in regard to rivals' top-10, a list has once again favored guys who played at big-time basketball schools and has ignored those who had stellar, yet quiet careers at less "popular" schools. this is excepting Bennett, who played at wisc-gb, and certainly deserves his spot since he is the all-time % leader, and made 290.
after seeing the numbers, here are my thoughts on the list:

GUYS ON THE LIST:
reddick being # 1 is ceratinly a joke. I suppose you could put him in based him holding the record for number made (457), and yes, he did take alot of off-balance shots, but his career 40% clip doesn't even come close to cracking the top 25 all-time. Tied for 25th on the % list is wesley person, who shot 44%, so I can only assume that cry baby isn't anywhere near the top in %.

curtis staples ??????? BWAAAAAA HAAAAA HAAAAA. 38 % lifetime ??????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME ???? I don't think I need to explain any further on this one

glenn rice is an interesting one. 48 % career is outstanding but he only made 135 total. 200 is generally the cutoff to get in the % record books, this makes me wonder if we should even consider rice a "3 point shooter" when he only drained about 33-34 a year. I say he's out.

I'm leaving lofton in since he still has a year and could possibly break reddick's record. if not he should at least get to 400 made

dennis scott's % may be wrong....says he shot 45 % but I don't see him in the top-25 all-time in %

stoudamire is deserving, but no more so than some guys I'll mention later

houston, monroe, and person are all marginally deserving, but probably less than some other guys

GUYS NOT ON THE LIST:
probably most deserving is kyle korver from creighton. he shot 45 % lifetime (better than houston, monroe, or person) and made 371 threes (better than anyone on the list save reddick and eventually lofton). kyle korver should DEFINITELY be on the list

steve novak from marquette BOTH shot better (46%) AND made more (354) than scott, stoudamire, houston, monroe, or person.

shawn respert, former msu spartan, also shot 46%, and his 331 made was better than several guys on the list

jason kapono from ucla shot 45% and made 317, making him at least more deserving than person

same goes for ross land from n.arizona, who shot 46% and dropped 308 total

now I know of course that the rivals list took into consideration the difficulty of the shots, but I'm really not convinced that they went back and watched tapes of creighton, marquette, north arizona, and so on, so that they could see how difficult the average ross land shot was.

in conclusion, you can probably tell who I think should and shouldn't be on the list. one thing is for sure though, as much as I hate to say it.......there is no former Cat that deserves to be there.
