In the CJ its headline reads:
"UofL signs another all-world transfer from Miami."
Sub-head, "New Coaching Staff keeping powerful Florida pipe-line intact."
Sub-Sub head, "Did we mention that Jurich is still brilliant."

If it were UK,
"UK signs third Miami cast-off with serious baggage."
Sub-Head, "Coach Brooks cannot seem to land untarnished big fish."
Sub-head, "Has Barnhart lost institutional Control?"

These are three guys who have spent more time posing for mug shots than action shots. The CJ however seems to gloss over this fact when they would never do so for us.

Bryant also was a key figure in the infamous Oct. 14 brawl between Miami and Florida International. After catching a 5-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, Bryant pointed to FIU's bench and bowed to the crowd. A fight involving dozens of players broke out on the extra-point try, and Bryant was among 31 players who earned suspensions for their actions.

Nate Harris, a senior on last year's team, signed to play for the Hurricanes before a high school arrest sent him to junior college. He played two years for Louisville.

Willie Williams, who joins U of L this fall, played at Miami for one season before going to junior college. Williams became nationally known for a string of arrests he incurred before he enrolled at Miami.

The good thing for their program is that with as many players on their roster as they have with jail time eventually they'll find one who has struck up a prison friendship with Paris Hilton, Nicole Richey or Lindsey Lohan and might invite them to a game. No matter how many "things UK" they try to steal from us they still have not found an answer for Ashley Judd.

Ashley is aging. Happens to the best of us. Just saying that I can walk on campus the first day of school and find 10 better than her in a half hour.

Perception is relative, I suppose.

I didn't read the headline to equate to "gushing" over UofL versus treatment of us were the situation to be reversed.

Another Miami linebacker transfers to U of L

followed by the subheading:

He was suspended 3 times last season

Seems to put it as it is. The first paragraph states this is a recurring theme - a Miami player transfers and along with it some baggage.

The article goes on to detail his problems - including his involvement in the brawl with Florida International.

It seems to me that putting it as it is allows most of us to draw accurate conclusions as to the underlying theme.

FWIW, surveyor, I also thought this particular CJ article was MOST FAIR. Further, I admit that I was a bit surprised that the "baggage" for all three transfers from Miami was mentioned when it did not HAVE to be mentioned.

True, the CJ has certainly treated the Louisville and UK programs quite differently. There's no doubt about that, and I understand Lecter's post in that regard. Rick Bozich is a perfect example of that. IF the football program had been UK, not Louisville, I have no doubt that a Bozich column would have already been written.

YET, Mr. Bennett does NOT "tip-toe" around the negatives in this one, as I see it. It's not an opinion piece, but merely an article with facts. He tells the whole story, including the negative facts. Kudos to him for that. GO CATS! GO RICH!

"Along with some baggage" Lahdee freekin dah. It sounds like he is coming to town with a load of Samsonite Luggage rather than the fact that he....

Played pivotal role in last seasons infamous Miami Brawl.

How about that one for the sub-head that the CJ would have written about our signing him.

You can bet the CJ sports writers would be asking questions as to why we have had taken so many bad apples in our program if the situation were reversed.

Agree 110% Ashley is one of the worlds most beautiful women and she pulls for us.

The motivation to say that she is not is something we see from UofL fans all the time. They love to try to diminish her status whether by poor-mouthing her looks or her acting ability. Its because the biggest name UofL celebrity is that baldheaded idiot, the talentless Terry "golum" Meiners.

As I said, if Pitino or Jurich could figure a way to lure her into a UofL T-shirt like they have done with Walter McCarty etal.... then Ashley would suddenly become the most beautiful woman in the world once again. Fortunately with her substantial wealth she does not have to "put out the red light" as some of the others have done of late.

Predictable...

Oddly, I once owned an Ashley Judd inflatable doll.... for use in the HOV lane Mr. Dirty-Mind.

Lets not forget that the men are strikingly handsome as well. Or at least that is what I'm told.... not that there is anything wrong with that...

While I felt the negatives were fairly noted in the article, again, I so agree that a particular CJ columnist would be doing just that if the roles were reversed, Lecter. Yes, IF I were a betting woman, I would be willing to make a substantial bet on that. :icon_biggrin: GO CATS! GO RICH!
