I know it's early for this, but i figured people may be interested... There wasn't a direct link, but just go to the nba page and it's the top story...

They have Rondo at #9 in this latest mock draft... to Golden State

I would hate to lose Rajon, but if he can get lottery money ...
If he goes, who takes the point?

I would assume Ramel would.
NBADraft.net has him at #16 right now.

UK makes any kind of a run in March and Rajon's stock will skyrocket.
I'm a little surprised he's that high after this season.

IMHO, Rondo is gone after this year... as long as he knows he's going in the 1st round... I do think Ramel would be the leading candidate to take over at the point, but I can also see him at the 2 spot replacing Sparks... if (maybe) one of our freshman Jasper or Meeks (can't remember which is being recruited to play point) can step into the role, but I doubt it...

Freshmen point guards scare me. But, then again, so does Ramel.
Love having Ramel on the floor, but is he a point?
I'd love to have Rajon back for another year - we'd all benefit. He needs more experience running and offense and we need his immense talent.
Jasper is supposed to be a 6'5" point guard. Porter may end up at the spot in a few years.
PG - Ramel
2G - Joe C.
SF - Bobby Perry
PF - Randolph
C - Shag
Good outside shooting and "drive from the wing" ability. Shot-blocking and rebounding should be improved.
Passing?

Granted he only has one year left, I don't see Shag sticking around.

Apologies to Rondo, but who in their right mind would pay large amounts of money to a point guard who has trouble reading the floor, can't hit a jump shot with consistency outside of ten feet, only hits 60% of his free throws, and has some obvious maturity problems. That's just bad business. That being said, Rondo take the money and run son, I don't fault you for that if someone is dumb enough to give it to you right now.

I love Tubby, but if Shag is starting at center next year, then Tubby is smoking something. Woo would start easily over Shag, but that would only happen IF Morris left. No way he moves to PF. And if Phil Jones comes, it might be argued that he would play before Shag, if not before Woo.

If you play the "lottery game" at the link provided above (may be gone soon), I believe you can find projections with Rajon going as high as #6, but no lower than #9, all depending on how the lottery plays out.

Maybe because that same "point guard" is a super basketball talent, who is a great defender, is quicker than perhaps anyone in the game, is a solid scorer (shoots 50% from the field), has had as many as 12 assists in a 40 minute game, can rebound better than any 6'1" guard most people have ever seen, and will be coming out of a system that has produced 4 current NBA players, all of whom, it could be argued, have less talent he does.

That was before mama saw him in the lottery.

per another site, at this time last year, Morris was projected as a first round lottery pick, and we all know what happened to him.

I still think he needs a jump shot, a free throw, and the ability to see the floor better. 12 assists is great but what about all the other games. I've no doubt at all he's a talent, he's shown that, I still think he needs some seasoning. That being said, if he is taken anywhere in the first round he should go and i wouldn't blame him a bit and neither should anyone else. I just don't see it as a good business decision but then I'm not any sort of expert. He wouldn't be the first player to be a great pro and just a good(as of right now)colleage player.

That site was NBAdraft.net which has been among the most horrible draft projection sites I have ever seen. ESPN is usually a little more on target. They had Morris as a late 2nd to undrafted last year. Dont underestimate the desire of the NBA for potential, which Rondo has tons of.

Have you paid attention to the most recent NBA drafts? I am amazed at the bonehead moves that NBA Executives make! Not saying they will draft Rondo, but can you say Steven Hunter? I mean he was almost a lottery pick a few years ago? Or what about Darko? Has he scored 100 points in his career?
If some NBA bonehead likes Rajon (and it sounds like the Hawks like him?) then I wouldn't be surprised?
You have to remember that this is a super weak draft since there are no HS kids and lots of kids left last year because of the fear of the age limit. Look around college and try to project players. There just are not a ton of guys that look like lottery picks. Rondo sure doesn't but it would not suprise me.
How UNC thinks they are keeping Tyler Hansborough I have no idea. I know his parents have plenty of money but surely he is a top 5 pick right now. He is one of the more impressive FR I have seen in a while. Just a super talented big man. Dunleavy's dad was making $3 million a year and he came out early soat some point it is not just about the money but the fact that your stock cannot get much higher so you might as well make the jump. I thinkTyler is at that point. If UNC makes any noise at all in the NCAA I can't see him staying.

Curious...where were Morris and AZ at in the mock draft toward the end of the season last year? We know the rest of that story...

Some sites mentioned Morris as a late first rounder. That's a lot different that the top ten predictions Rondo is getting.
I would be shocked if Rondo was back next season.....but I've been shocked before.

One good thing is that is that mockdraft is correct, then the cats will not have to deal with Tyrus Thomas or Ronnie Brewer next year.

Rondo sure does not play like a #9 draftee.
I think of Andre Barrett, Miles Simon, Jason Hart and others when I watch Rondo. I don't think he is ready. Here is hoping he stays and improves his basketball skills and knowledge. NBA teams would get frustrated watching him miss so many shots.
