"I leave with great pride in what I have been able to accomplish at a school that only verbally supports their sports programs. Those in charge have unrealistic expectations of success considering the lack of funds budgeted," Macy said in the statement. "In spite of their lack of commitment, I was able to accomplish many things."

That my friends, is why the athletics at morehead struggle, lack of funding. The administration doesn't want to have to pay for anything with athletics out here. The basketball team is lucky to have a place to play, or balls to play with. This isn't just the Basketball team, it goes for all the athletics at morehead, even teams that constantly contend for national championships. Absolutely no money goes out to some programs.

I think Macy did just about as good as any coach out here could. 4-23 isn't good, and I know those guys on the team aren't that great, but the way things are run out here im suprised they won a single game.

Yea... and thats due to the program being so pathetic. If the program gets no money, it's hard to get recruits. Everything they have is pretty crappy. When / if recruits take a visit to Morehead, its not like going to UK where you have a beautiful campus, excellent facilities and legions of fans before you even play a game.

Sure he couldn't get recruits, but I don't think it's his fault.

I heard this on the radio last night. It was sad to hear. I know he gave it his best shot. Sad that it didn't work out for him. I wish him the best.

I dunno - maybe he's just not a good head coach - go figure.

I don't follow the program enough to know if he is head coach material but he certainly sounds pissed off.

If he could teach Rajon and the others to just hit free throws he'd be worth every penny!

"MOREHEAD, Ky. – Kyle Macy has resigned as men’s head basketball coach at Morehead State University after nine years in the position.

Macy’s overall record was 106-144. He led the Eagles to an Ohio Valley Conference Co-Championship in 2002-03, and his teams made five appearances in nine years in the OVC Tournament. In 2001-02, Macy’s Eagle squad led the nation in free throw percentage, and in 2002-03, MSU led the nation in field goal percentage."

WE NEED A FOUL SHOOTING COACH!!! Also MSUled the nation in field goal percentage in 02-03...Macy's overall record was not that bad...just a lousy year this year.
