After being a fan for over thirty years I finally had the chance to see this rock n roll hall of famer in a small club in Boulder...Ralph Cramden was also in attendance and she will concur this was one special concert...being the old hippy I am I thought Patti was dynamic in a Joplin way and she is very sexy with her gray/black hair...she really connected with the crowd and it was a great rock n roll night...any other Patti fans among the Nation?
"Jesus died for somebody's sins but not mine"
From her old "Horses" album, I thought she did the best version of "GLORIA" ever done.
And didn't Gilda R. do a Patti Smith where she would fall down on the stage and sizzel like a piece of bacon? :icon_lol:

Horses is remastered and is now a two-disc set...the second disc is Patti and her band performing Horses live in 2005 in London...you haven't heard "Gloria" until you heard it live...hang on...and her encore is "My Generation" and I'm proud we are the same age...if you would like me to burn you a copy PM me.

AMEN! Just because she decides to say something like that, doesn't change the TRUTH! I pray someone will convince her otherwise.

Steve and Jeep, The lyric is the start of her cover version of "Gloria" and Patti Smith fans understand the song...I'm an atheist but I don't reply every time someone makes a religious reference on this board and I'm not offended that people believe in God...the thread was intended to discuss Patti Smith and her music and not to offend..."it's only rock n roll"...peace.

"it's only rock n roll"...
and I like it...:) I`m certainly not offened but the lyric struck me as sad and I was compelled to say as much...sorry...
I first thought of Patti SMYTH when I first read the post and when I googled that was the first warning I got...
Please don't confuse Patty with Patti Smith, the poet/writer/singer famous for "Because the Night".

No apology necessary...what Patti is writing is that if she "sins" it's her sin and nobody elses...I never took it as being negative toward Jesus.
