On tonight's WLAP sports show, Dick Gabriel shared that Ventrell Jenkins may get to play this season. It was so great to hear GOOD NEWS for a change :) (in contrast to news about injuries). I had kept hoping that he MIGHT be able to play, but had not wanted to get my hopes up and be disappointed. Anyway, it seems LIKELY that Ventrell will soon return to the field.

Ventrell has shown me a lot of promise. His return to action would be HUGE for defensive line depth (although he will certainly be behind his teammates because of all the missed time due to his shoulder injury). In addition, Ventrell seemed to be such a nice guy when I had met him a year ago at Fan Day. Good for UK football, AND good for Ventrell! :) GO CATS! GO VENTRELL!

As good of news as this could be, I hope he doesn't blow a redshirt year by playing a few games and reinjuring it - let's hope it's healed, this would really help our depth and would give us a very solid D-Line.

As I understand, it was not a repair of a football injury but a congenital condition discovered by the benefits of great medicine provided by a class A football program.

Yes, I called it an injury, but I think you are absolutely right. What is WONDERFUL, again, is that Ventrell has been cleared for action. What's amazing is that he now (four days after my original post) could even see some action this week. SO NEAT! :) GO CATS! GO RICH! GO VENTRELL!
