i was rear ended on tuesday and it's looking like my car may be totaled. which really burns my you know what since it would be paid for in jan. anyway, i've already been looking around and the magnum has really caught my attention. i've found one in my neighborhood for a REALLY, REALLY good price. it's the r/t model which means it's a V8. i'm not really concerned with gas mileage because i don't drive that often. i've had my mercury sable for 4.5 years and i've put less than 40,000 miles on it. anybody have any positive or negative feedback??? it's down to the magnum which i would prefer or the jeep grand cherokee that the wife would rather me have.

Consumer Reports has given the 2006 Magnum an "average" used car verdict and the 2007 model a "worse than average" new car prediction. This might seem backwards but the results are based on a survey that subscribers complete on a yearly basis.
The Cherokee has steadily maintained "much worse than average" ratings for many, many years and the V6 has the distinction of being the 2nd least satisfying, midsized SUV in its class. Only the 2006 GMC Envoy (V6) was surveyed as being less satisfying.
All this comes from a former '87 Dakota owner who will never buy another Dodge again based on their powertrain warranty. My truck started knocking badly at <70k miles but the area rep refused to pay for repairs. And yes it was serviced at a dealership.

appreciate the feedback, it's beginning to look like it may not be a total loss after all. the lady who hit me is insured by geico. they want to send me to one of thier approved body shops for an estimate. after that, i can take it to any body shop i choose. so cross your fingers in hopes that this body shop doesn't total it out. i was really looking forward to having this thing paid off!!!!!

Kentucky State Police use them as unmarked interceptors. I have seen them in action.... The Grey Ghost's. I love em. With The hemi they are bad to the bone!!!!

Gotta take issue with their rating of the Cherokee. . . .I've had 2 as company cars and one of my own in the last 11 years and have nothing but good things to say. . . far superior to the Explorer I had and given the anecdotal evidence from friends and acquaintances who have owned other SUV's I would put their performance up against any other similar vehicle. . . ..
