With preseason camp over and classes having resumed, the Kentucky football team has turned full attention to the season opening game vs. Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 1.
The Wildcats had a two-hour practice Saturday morning, capped by a 30-minute situational scrimmage. They now begin the game-week schedule, with film study and a light workout on Sunday, the mandatory day off on Monday, and practice on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday leading up to the lidlifter.
“Execution, focus, and doing game-week preparation,” Brooks said of his current expectations for the squad. “I thought the contact was good today, the focus was pretty good, and there weren’t as many mistakes as there has been.
“We scrimmaged against some of Eastern’s stuff (today). We’ve been working on Eastern for the last three or four days, a period here and a period there, and now it will all be Eastern.”
