Welcome Jerry! Lexington has a very wide variety of offerings. Are you more inclinded for the campus life, down home style, elegant, etc.???

Definitely taken in Keeneland and then the game that night. Personally, I love the fall meet especially when we get one of those gorgeous chrisp fall days when there's not a cloud in the sky and the temperatures are getting down in the upper '60's. To me it's a little piece of heaven on earth. If you like horse racing you'll love Keeneland.

I have a horribly addictive personality and not too much cash, so a horse track might be a bad thing. Kinda more interested in places that most would consider a "must" to eat at in Lexington (not looking for gourmet, just places that the locals love), bars, and possibly parking tips.

Columbia steak house is the best steak for the money, imho. You can get a meal for 13 to 15 bucks a head, not counting drinks.
Marika's has 500 beers on the menu, has great german food, and a seperate bar area, located on Southland drive.
You should really consider experiencing Keenland, though. It is a totally different atmosphere than other tracks. When in Rome..............

Joe Bologna's restaurant is a long-time Lexington favorite for pizza and it's near campus. Try the garlic breadsticks.
Pazzo's is another for pizza, sandwiches, etc. with an extensive beer list and is right off campus as well.

What was funny was watching cow dude get nailed by the UK fan who was taunting Ronnie Riley.

Besides, you won't win much anyway and it won't be that exciting. The best parts are the views.... beautiful.... and sexy if it's warmer.
Chinese - Hunan's (Southland Drive)
BBQ - Billy's (High Street), Sam's Hot Dog Stand N. Limestone (It's awesome)
German - Marikaa's (Southland Drive, more for the beer)
American (Southern) - Ramsey's (there's several)
Bars downtown (Cheapside, Bluegrass Tavern, McCarthy's, The Dame for live music) - get a cab though as the police are THICK.
There's a shuttle from downtown for the game. http://ukathletics.com/fbgameday/new.html

For something a little different, try Atomic Cafe also on North Limestone. Caribbean cuisine, nice outdoor patio, relaxed atmosphere.

Gotta tell the truth... I'm mad at LSU fans.
It was a miserable day after the game, and I kept yelling at passing LSU fans - come drink my beer! We'll talk about how terrible some other (besides us and LSU) SEC power is!
None would do it! Granted, it was a strange day. And maybe, that was a little strange behavior on my part, maybe moronic even, but I love hanging out with UGA fans, because they aren't UTK fans, and LSU fans aren't UTK fans.

I can only assume you are talking about the '02 game?
Don't take this the wrong way, but that game was a wake up call to just how bad a team LSU had that year. That was just a strange game overall. I shattered a remote control against the wall that afternoon.
