YES, AND HERE ARE JUST 25 REASONS FANS ARE PUMPED
One of the best weeks of every sports year is the one when college football kicks off.
Of course, history suggests the week before play actually begins is often the high point of University of Kentucky football seasons.
This year, however, I don't think that will be true. Here are 25 reasons the long-suffering UK football fan (a phrase on which I wish I owned the trademark) can be justifiably stoked about the impending Wildcats football season.
25. Kentucky has, for Kentucky, an unusual bounty -- think Woodson, Burton, Little, Woodyard, Tamme -- of star-caliber players.
24. One final year to watch Rafael Little and his kinetic feet.
23. Chance to see if Andre Woodson can live up to his burgeoning national hype.
22. Chance to see if UK can put an offensive line of sufficient strength in front of Andre Woodson to give him a chance to live up to his burgeoning level of national hype.
21. Should be a good autumn for the preachers -- because UK football fans figure to go from Sept. 1 through Nov. 24 praying fervently every night that Andre Woodson doesn't get hurt.
20. Sept. 15: Woodson vs. Brohm for state QB supremacy.

I hope his #1 assertion comes through. It would be wonderful down here in Nashville, wouldn't it Rick?
I know I'm ready to go. Can't wait. GO CATS!

14. Sept. 15: Imagine all the fun variations possible to the word "Kragthorpe."
I have a friend that is a UL fan and we had a very similar conversation talking smack about a month or so ago...

"Documents obtained by Yahoo! Sports indicate quarterback Tim Couch (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/4649/;_ylt=AiIX5tkyZ6RoUrjfzrnsogZ8ZtEF) had regimens that called for the use of anabolic steroids and human growth hormone while he attempted to revive his NFL career after a three-year hiatus from the league.
The regimens outlined in the documents with Couch's name printed across the top called for extensive use of drugs banned by the NFL.
Couch, the No. 1 pick in the 1999 NFL draft, told Yahoo! Sports he briefly took HGH – which is banned by the NFL – in hopes the drug would help him recover from shoulder surgery. But he denied using steroids or any other banned"

Heywildcatgirl, although I may be premature in my judgement, just an FYI, fans from other schools are permitted to post, just don't go out of your to be a jerk. Keep it on topic, remember your a guest. It's a UK board so the UK fans get a bit more leeway in forum discussion. If you can't figure that out, well I really can't help you out.
Really no need to cloak yourself as a "UKgirl". Sorry, If I am wrong but from reading your first post, I don't think I am.

You may just be my favorite cardinal...that pains me to say... I do typically enjoy reading your posts regardless if they are informative or "smack" they are always "good posts."
So that I don't steer away from the topic at hand too much - I'm completely jacked to see the season get underway. I simply can't wait to see the Woodson Vs. Brohm battle! It will probably take me back to the Couch Vs. Manning battle that I remember years back. We may have lost that game, but I'll remember it til the day I die that I get to tell the story of how I saw them play against each other... Keep in mind when I'm judged on that statement that Couch is my favorite player all time from UK and I was brought up following UK starting in the early to mid 90s so I haven't seen some of the other former favorites ever play. On top of that, factor in how good a QB Manning was/is. As much as I despise the Vols, I still respect Peyton very much

Back to the original topic for a second- Anticipating Kentucky Football.
Hard to believe but this season could really be something special. And we all know it. Including the media members who aren't blind.
I was talking with another UK fan down here in Raleigh yesterday and we actually talked Football. And it wasn't about how bad things were. How long's it been since that happened?
Could be the kind of year where we score 30 a game- and give up 29. Or 31. Everything comes down to the Defense this season, IMHO. We are going to score points in our sleep. But can we stop anybody? It's the $64,000 Question.
Good luck Football Cats! For the first time in a long time I'm trying to wrangle a visit to Commonwealth Stadium. I normally save up my UK travel points for basketball season. Something tells me I want to be in Lexington this Fall.
Go Cats!

Yeah, I didn't understand that either.

2. A chance to count how many different ways Rich Brooks gives his once vast legion of doubters the raspberry -- if it turns out that the head coach whom no one had faith in (present writer included) actually produces back-to-back memorable Kentucky football seasons.
1. Nov. 24: Call me crazy, but I think this is the year the Tennessee hex dies. QUOTE by Mark Story
_______________
While I have not been a Mark Story fan, I LOVE his top two reasons. I would love for Coach Brooks to turn in back-to-back memorable seasons (and prove Story and other past non-believers wrong) AND for us finally to beat UT again. :)
Too, I am SO PUMPED. Of course, I'm PUMPED every season, but even more so this season because of what (or whom) I KNOW we have coming back this year. I don't need any reason, though, to be PUMPED about UK football. :) GO CATS! GO RICH!

It has been a long time coming, so many close calls. The Ewe-T fans would only be more obnoxious, IMO. They are very poor losers. It is a problem I would like to have this season for sure.
