Given the University of Kentucky's brutal schedule that includes seven games against teams currently ranked in the top 25 of the Associated Press poll, head coach Rich Brooks knows the Wildcats have plenty of opportunities to earn national respect.

There are home games against No. 2 Louisiana State as well as national champion and No. 5-ranked Florida scheduled on consecutive Saturdays in October and a season-ending home game against No. 22 Tennessee on Nov. 24.

Yet for all of the important games looming on UK's agenda, there is no denying that the Wildcats' clash against No. 9 Louisville at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Commonwealth Stadium is one that players and fans anticipate the most.

"To make them (the players) think it's just another week is pretty silly because it's not," Brooks said. "This is a huge game.

"We talked this year about having lots of opportunities to do things Kentucky hasn't done before. So it's a big week and we approach it as that."

The Wildcats would like nothing more than to continue the momentum they built coming off their best season since 1984 culminated by the team's first bowl victory and appearance.
