Hey Everyone -

I just wanted to send a quick blurb out, detailing our local Nashville plans for the big game this weekend. We are having a hard time finding any sports bars that are interested in reserving the amount of space that we need for football Saturdays. With the various large fan bases here in Nashville, the bars are hesitant to ask large groups of loyal patrons to leave their table after a few hours of eating and drinking. I will work diligently to reserve space for the Arkansas game next Saturday, which was just picked up by ESPN 2 for a 5:00 pm central time start. As most of you know, we have a good agreement with Corner Pub in Midtown for our Thursday night events, and we have no plans to change that location in the immediate future. As for this weekend, however, we are planning to have a game watch party at Cross Corner Sports Bar on Franklin Road in Brentwood. It is a very short distance off of the exit for Old Hickory Blvd from Interstate 65 (see directions below).

I plan to arrive early with a few other friends, and I would love for people to join me. If I have multiple fans there with me early, it will make the reserving of tables much easier. I will probably get there an hour before kickoff, which will clearly help me "loosen up" for game time (this is going to be a stressful one). If anyone else is interested in getting there with me at that time, or possibly even earlier, please let me know. Also, I know it may be tough to gauge what your plans will be for the game this weekend, but if you could respond to me with a PM and let me know if you intend on coming, that would be wonderful; that would help me assess how much space I need to try to partition off prior to kickoff.

Just as a reminder, if any of you know of additional emails for UK Young Alumni in the area, I would love to add them to our data base. We are currently up to approximately 120 in our database. In addition, I are planning some interesting things for all of you with regards to the database. Don't forget about our next normally scheduled Young Alumni Event at the Midtown Corner Pub on October 4th, which coincides with the South Carolina Game.

Keep spreading the word to other UK Alumni in the area!

Hey guys I know I havent been around in forever but I have relocated to Nashville and just wanted to give you a heads up about Cross Corner. They are the official meeting place for the Music City Gator Alumni group (UF) and the Penn State group. Katie went there last week to try and watch the Gator game as she is an UF alum and couldnt find a seat in the place. I know the Brentwood Grille on Church St in Brentwood also shows all the SEC games. Cross Corner just gets really packed from my understanding

We have already discussed this with Cross Corner. For what it is worth, they will work very dilligently to accomodate us, and we have hosted many UK events there. The UF vs. UT game starts at 2:30, and should be out of the way before we play. In addition, I am fairly certain that the Penn State game is one of the earlier games. We actually have a different location that we will be going to next week, but there are a bunch of folks headed to Cross Corner. We are going to get there early and try to rope off some real estate. If they make us stand instead of sit, at least we will all be together!
