I have to say as a college football fan, I am still dissapointed that the Cats/Cards matchup is happening in the third week of the season, but the build up has been fun. Both teams avoided any hiccups that would cost a loss to this point, and I am looking forward to watching the game.
Know that your SEC brethren are ready for the Cats to represent. I think that the Cats will be just fine. The key to the game as I see it is creative playcalling on first down. I have a feeling that Joker understands the need for ball control, and look to see a healthy dose of the UK running attack. UK's best defense will be keeping Brohm off of the field. With that said, I hope that the first down playcalls are not too conservative. No need to go down field, but don't get stuck in the Bill Curry run the ball on first and second down and throw on third. Keep it mixed up, and get the six or seven yards on some good first down playcalls.
The other keys are limiting turnovers (hate to state the obvious) and finding some way to get to Brohm early. He has been on fire, but no one has really put any heat on him yet. He is a great QB, but if you guys have a plan to rattle him early and get him out of rythym, he is very beatable.
All in all after watching both teams play I would say that Louisville's defense can be just as vulnerable as the UK's unit.
Good luck and go Cats.
