What I want from UK Football & Brooks (My wish list)

Defense, Defense, Defense!! Look at the good teams we have had in the past 40 years, the winning ones. For the most part they could play great defense. In the Mumme years our offense just outscored the other team, but as time showed you when the other teams picked up the offensive scheme. They beat us, bad. You have to play defense and give your offense a short field or put points on the board yourself. With the great special teams play we have had under Brooks, if he can get a great defense started, the offense will come around and we will see the wins and bowl game come regular.
Our last Shutout in a game was 1996. We had two that year, 3-0 over Ind. and 25-0 over Vandy.

Agree. There's an old adage that offense sells tickets and defense wins championships.

You don't have any Columbia House Gunsmoke dvd's for sale do you?

No. I love westerns and shoot Cowboy Fast Draw in matches out west (I dress as an old west Deputy US Marshal)But, the Gunsmoke DVD's are just too costly.

Do you happen to have a copy ofthe 2002 UK win at Arkansas? The one that was never televised, I think it was on PPV in Ark.I've never heard of anyone with a copy.

I do not have a copy of that. I had it lined up to tape if the AD from Arkansas would allow for Pay for view. but, he would not. I think he knew UK was going to win.

When we hired Brooks my father-in-law from Oregon said that with Brooks we will have a defense. It is definately something he emphasizes.

Before the game, UK did not sell out their visitor ticket allotment and the Ark. AD/Pres were playing hardball. The game was not a sellout and they would not allow an out of state pay per view.

I went fishing on Lake Cumberland that Saturday. We parked the boatin the big open water area near Beaver Creek and listened to the game. There were other UK boats scattered around and you could hear the big blue cheers echoing around the lake.

And, Yes; it's all about the Defense. Our team is just getting to the point where we have a near full deckto play with. It's going to be fun watching the D develop around the added tallent and depth.
