1) As I said on the radio on Monday morning, in looking back at the Louisville-Kentucky matchup it was not only bittersweet to finally see Big Blue Nation finally witness the Wildcats pull out an upset victory, but also to see a game live up to its billing for a national audience that tuned in. Rarely in sports does the event parallel the build-up and in this case, the Wildcats and Cardinals played the gem we all thought it could be and experts envisioned. In my opinion, the rivalry between the two teams is finally where it needs to be and it will be a long time before one team is as dominant over the other. UK finally has a full complement of scholarships at its disposal and won't have to face its nemesis Brian Brohm, anymore. I'm looking forward to seeing the years to come, because we finally get to see the fruits of the labor put in towards recruiting these past three years.

2) Can enough be said about the duo of UK's so called washed-up coordinators? Both Randy Sanders and Jimmy Heggins were pushed out by their respective universities, falling on the sword of Philip Fulmer and Bobby Bowden, respectively. Coach Rich Brooks welcomed both with open arms and the end result has been nothing short of perfect. Heggins has helped turn around an offensive line that was borderline pathetic under Paul Dunn, who the players couldn't stand to be around and who didn't even take the time to know their names. He left for greener pastures (cough, cough) at Pittsburgh under Dave Wannstedt and left with him a handful of excuses for why his unit was not good enough. Today the Pitt Panther fans are the deer in Dunn's headlights, while Heggins has had nothing but answers for UK's unit since he arrived. The Louisville game may standout for now, but there have been plenty more contests that Heggins had his imprint on. And as for Sanders? UK's football program wouldn't be anything without Coach Sanders' arrival two years ago. Woodson was a lost soul buried behind Curtis Pulley heading into summer workouts. His confidence was below sea level before Sanders somehow used his Midas touch to now make him a Heisman candidate.

3) I hope I am wrong, but I doubt the win against Louisville will look as impressive as it looks today. Not to take anything away from the win, but Les Miles of LSU perhaps said it best when he told a group of reporters after his dominating win over Middle Tennessee, that Louisville would lose 5 or 6 games in the SEC. I would disagree a little bit with Miles' sentiment, but in looking ahead, it's hard-pressed to believe that Louisville doesn't lose 3 to 4 games this year. They may very well right the ship, but there are bigger games on the schedule left and better opponents to be beaten for the Wildcats. The first better opponent is Saturday, when the Wildcats take on Arkansas, in the first of many swing games for Kentucky. If they want to be apart of the SEC East conversation, they need to defeat the 'Hawgs on the road. It will be a tough task to say the least, but it's one that may tell a lot about how good UK is.
