Has UK played it's best football this year?

Sure Woodson, Burton, Little, Tame, Woodyard, are all playing very well, and the rest of the team is catching up quick. There is no problem with effort and heart from these players. But there were some mistakes Saturday and some questionable play calling. All stuff that can be fixed though. I just think the best is yet to come for theses Cats yet this year.

Hopefully, the guys have gotten some self confidence and this will be motivation to build on it for the real season. Conference play starts Saturday in a very real and tough way. Fla Atl looming in the future. Then back on the road for a visit to the Gamecocks and their "cockabooses". No rest for the weary the rest of the ride this season either. Hopefully, they are hungry enough to want to be a contender for the SEC East. I'm confident this staff will smooth out the major mistakes and have them ready.

GO CATS! ! !

I agree with everything you say. Of course, there will always be mistakes and some playcalling that not everyone agrees with. I was very pleased with the team's performance Sat. night. I did feel some of the players, Woodson in particular, were playing a bit tight, but that's to be expected in a game of that magnitude.

When you punt only three times throughout the game I think the playcalling is pretty good. Sure, everyone is questioning not going for 2 after the final touchdown, and the 4th and 1 option play (though if we had converted the play there would be a lot less talk about it). But I would say Kentucky played to its strengths. Below is a link for the game stats.

Though I think Woodson has played relatively flawless (0 interceptions, nearly 70% completion percentage), I still think the best is yet to come from Andre.

I think, as the season progresses, he'll play even more to his full potential. It is still early and he has had a few overthrows on wide open deep routes in the first two games among a few other, minor mistakes.

I think Woodson gets better each game this season...

I tell ya that I haven't been happy with our playing calling the last two games. I think we should run a lot more. If we do & it works like I think it will, then we ain't seen nothing yet.

We barely used TD last week & didn't use The Fonze at all. Rotating those guys in more & we can overwhelm D's with that fresh speed IMO. Rl was great, but he's far from our only RB weapon.

I think the offense is clicking and with a little better play calling will even improve that much more. Defense seems to be coming along real well. It was great that UofL only scored 1 touchdown against the Cats defense in the second half. Special teams' needs some work. Extra points and kick off coverage was not impressive at all. Get that together and this team could become a big force in the SEC this year.

So what we are all saying..

We did not play our A game, and still beat UL.

Imagine what this team will do when they get their A game going.

My feelings exactly. It just stands to reason that when you have 3 backs with this kind of ability, if you rotate them you eventually just wear down the D. And throw Conner and the 2 freshmen Locke and Allen in there from time to time, too.

Exactly!

We played (and coached) like we were not quite confident of our abilities. Understandable, I guess - but not any more.

What I'm hoping (and what I think I saw in Andre's gait as he walked toward his mother) is that it hit them that it's not just talk - we are really a good team.

Could be a precious, special year ...

i don't think we've played a complete game yet. offensively, when we get better timing on screens and woodson becomes more consistent, with his accuracy, watch out. defensively, keep tackling, keep tackling, keep tackling....and continued great game planning. STICK WITH the special teams units. better days are ahead, i have no doubts.
