No Kentucky player was picked in the 2007 NFL Draft. The Wildcats who might have been drafted chose to come back for their senior seasons.

“I came back to improve my draft stock, but the No. 1 reason was to complete some things at Kentucky,” said wide receiver Keenan Burton, who received a third-round grade from the NFL Draft evaluation committee. “I think we have some unfinished things we need to take care of, and I think we’re on the right track.”

The No. 21 Wildcats (3-0 ) come to Arkansas for Saturday’s game at Reynolds Razorback Stadium with their first Associated Press poll ranking since 1984, led by an explosive offense featuring Burton, quarterback Andre Woodson, tight end Jacob Tamme and running back Rafael Little.

All four earned All-SEC honors last season when the Wildcats finished 8-5, including victories over Georgia and Clemson, and are off to big starts this fall.

“It’s obviously a great bonus for us to have them back,” Kentucky Coach Rich Brooks said.

So far this season Woodson has completed 68. 4 percent of his passes for 743 yards and 9 touchdowns without an interception; Little is averaging 129. 3 rushing yards per game; Burton has 21 catches for 257 yards and 2 touchdowns; and Tamme has 8 catches for 64 yards and 1 touchdown and has been a solid blocker for the team’s improved rushing game.

The Razorback football team completed its final practice Thursday in preparation for Saturday’s home game against Kentucky. Head coach Houston Nutt was pleased with the team’s focus and level of play during the workout.

“We had another good day today (with) excellent concentration,” Nutt said. “We hit the kicking game like we do every Thursday—lots of intensity—hitting every substitution. We worked hard on the punt return and kickoff return to get ready for the Kentucky Wildcats.”

Nutt said the Razorbacks have to focus on executing in the running game and taking care of the football against Kentucky’s defense.
