Article from my hometown newspaper, The Kentucky Standard. A little about Brittany and some on the 8th grader. I'll be asking my brother about this kid since he is a sophomore at the school.

The Nelson County girls’ basketball team won its 19th District Tournament opener, but lost a key starter.

Nelson County’s Amy Kurtz injured her left knee with 2:45 to play in the second quarter during a 51-42 victory against Washington County (12-15) Monday at Bethlehem.

Edelen, a University of Kentucky signee, scored 23 points on 9-of-21 from the field and added eight rebounds in her final basketball game at Washington County. She finished her career with about 2,300 points.

I read that she is sister of T.C. Drake, incoming freshman for Rich Brooks next fall and about 6'5" tight end. Sounds like she has the genes and from what I've heard she's got the game. BTW. Edelen is the real deal and could be a special player for DeMoss over the next 4 years. Very, very athletic.

Edelin is a senior at my little brother's high school. I love the fact that someone from my area is getting a scholarship to play division 1, especially at UK.
