Scott and I are the first two in line at the right ticket window. We have met and talked with several WCN members. Today was kinda rough, Scott and I were up over 42 hours and will finally get some rest tonight.
A young lady from the UK Volleyball team was riding by on her bike going to class, and her front tire hit a sleeping bag that had been dropped on the sidewalk in front of her. She took a very bad spill on the concrete, her bike was damaged and her right foot was cut and bleeding close to her big toe. Scott, Jon and I fixed her bike while she was at class and visiting the UK trainer to see if she could play against UT tonight. Luckily, she was cleared to play and got her bike back as good as new. She was very appreciative(as was Sandy Bell) that we got her bike fixed and she was okay, she was a very sweet young lady. Several of us went into the game and she had a very good game against the Vols.
Today we saw Andre Woodson, Steve Johnson, Moncell Allen, Patrick Patterson, Michael Porter, Mark Coury, Ramon Harris, Alex Legion, Mike Williams, Jodie Meeks and Derrick Jasper. AJ Stewart came by and threw football with us for a minute(at his request), another good example of a fine young man playing for UK. AJ was very nice, smiling and laughing while he was there. Also, Keenan Burton came by our tent after the volleyball game asking how we were doing and about the ticket distribution. He told us he would be back by to check on us and if we needed anything to let him know. Another great young man and as friendly and genuine as anyone you will ever meet. He stood and talked to the WCN guys for quite a while and shook all our hands before leaving.
The decision to hand out numbers to those in line needs some tweaking. We had 3 students with us in front of the line this morning that had class at 8:00, but since no one knew about the number system lost their place in line. IMO the students come first and a system that doesnt take into account their class obligations needs some work. I felt very bad that they went from being in the front with us to being 50 people back in the line.:thumbdn:
I was interviewed by 1300 AM this afternoon. They sent a guy out with me and I was a guest on their sports show. I had a lot of fun on the show and answered questions for a while. So far Kevin and Angie were the only ones that heard it, but the host is going to make me a copy. We were on the LHL today and was interviewed by them for an article that will be posted either tomorrow or Friday. We also did interviews with the student radio station, channels 27 and 36 and another radio station that I forget.
Anyway, had a minute to post a report and wanted to to let everyone know about the already very long lines. Will post some pictures very soon. Here are the ones from Kentucky.com........
