We hate him. He's arrogant and gets under every opposing fans' skin. Every where he goes, his fan's take on his personality. At one time, we wanted him to be our coach instead of seeing him on the other side.

I hate the guy. I know he says things because that's just the way he is but still.. I hate the guy and that visor he wears. But come Thursday night, I feel good about our Cats. They are damn good. A top 15 team that belongs in the top echelon of the SEC. We're gonna strap it on and bring our game and Steve will be embarrassed to have to admit he was beaten by the better team in the post-game!

Go CATS!!!

Drew Deener on the telecast today said that he ask a media counterpart in South Carolina how the USC fans saw the upcoming game against the Cats. The South Caroliina media guy's reply was that the USC fans were saying, "it's just Kentucky coming here". In other words, UK getting no respect at all from Carolina fans.

I hope these quotes are viewed by our guys. I'd post that quote Larry included right in the locker room.

I hope the Ole Ball Coach keeps running his trap. The faster it runs, the harder we're gonna shut it.

Go Cats. Show them who you are!

They said on Lincoln Financial the he's now the "head ball coach", not the "old ball coach" and he has a website something like www.spurrierhbc.com (http://www.spurrierhbc.com), or something like that.

The last time I saw a South Carolina game, Moe Williams put on a running clinic. I believe he had over 300 all purpose yards in that game.

The south Carolina fans are pretty good people from my dealings with them. I don't think they are scared but I would be surprised if they were chalking this as a sure win.

We are 2-0 in the swing games, the ones we circled before the season as being critical to how our season goes. We took care of business against Louisville and Arkansas, now we have that other swing game in South Carolina. Lose that one and we could be looking at a 7-8 win season, win that one and we could be staring at a 9-10 win season and a potential shot at the SEC East championship and a date in Atlanta.

I know that we are all happy and feeling good about the state of UK football.

But we now must deal with Steve Spurrier and all the tricks he has to pull. Love him or hate him, he's still among the best.

Just whoop his butt and shut him up.

I hate to say this.
I don't feel good about South Carolina. I don't know why exactly.....

I hope we beat 'em up!

I hope we beat them too. It would really be a boost for our football team. I didn't feel good about the Louisville game either but somehow we pulled it out. Hopefully we can do the same against South Carolina.

I tell you why you feel uneasy. It is the first time in a long time our team has something to lose. This year SC needs this win as much if not more than we do. That is what makes this game so great.

Don't feel uneasy. SC is hemhorraging rushing yards and their offense is not very good. Looks like a big night for Little, Locke, Dixon and the running game on Thursday. A display of power like we have never seen from the Cats may be on display on Thursday night and send a message to the rest of the nation that we are here to stay.

My prediction is pain for the Cocks.

Welcome to the site boys, but know this, we are coming for you on Thursday. This is NOT the Kentucky team of past years. Coach Brooks and staff have built us up on a rock solid foundation. Our fans are enjoying our 5 and 0 start but the team is not resting on that or our ranking. Each game is a mission for them, you can see it in their faces.

GO BIG BLUE!!!

I have a question for you. Are you frustrated that your style of play and M.O. for winning games does not seemed to have changed dramatically with the arrival of Spurrier? Yeah, you have gotten over the hump vs. UT and Clemson, but you were looking up at us in the final standings last year and you still win with defense and a good, ball control running game, yesterday aside.

Is it frustrating that your team looks very similar to many Holtz teams?

Also, I'm not being cocky (?), just looking at the two teams on the field. How will you stop our multi-faceted offense, which is arguably the best in the nation?

First, welcome to WCN. I'm all for a little friendly rivalry talk, like you're bringing. In fact, we even have a separate forum for it .

However, I look forward to finally beating Spurrier this coming Thursday. The gloves are off, and we are on a mission, one game at a time. This team is all business. Like we've been talking about in this thread, they don't get high off of their wins, they proceed to the next order of business. The Ole Ball Coach, or whatever he wants to be called, is gonna have to choke down some Crow Thursday night, courtesy of the Wildcats!

The game should be excellent. I can't wait to see it, only wish I were able to make the trip to SC to see it in person. I will be on vacation in Gatlinburg but will definately find a way to watch the game whether its in the hotel or at a bar or something.

p.s. welcome aboard gamecockboy! Hope you enjoy your stay and visit back with us throughout the season(s)! It's a great place to be

My biggest problem with Coach Superior is that he will never, ever admit that. He never gives the opposition any credit what so ever. At least I've never heard it come out of his mouth.

I simply feel that, regardless of rankings, UK and USC are as close to evenly matched as possible. We have a better offense; they have a better defense. I think UK will need some breaks to win the game. I don't see a blowout from either team, even if injuries are involved.

I don't think anyone at Carolina takes this game lightly. Should be a great contest. The game was close last year and I expect this one to be the same. Was in Lexington for our last two games , had a great time at both games and met a lot of great Kentucky fans.

I have sat right in the middle of USC fans in games in Columbia and they were very Classy.

I think some on here have never been to South Carolina.

They are not like Spurrier's old Florida Fans.

i am kind of frustrated...we have alot of talent now and our offense will only get better and better...with spurrier here we play to the level of our opponents...this team is no where the same when lou was here...lou would run our rbs and qbs to death...we respect uk offense but we believe that y'all haven't faced a team like us who can run and throw the ball...we also r only going to get better on special teams....we can slow u down by blitzing on your qb and rushing him...if u have a slow punter look for us to try and block it....

A big "welcome" from me, too. We are Big Blue fans, not smack talkers here, so win or lose, you should get some good posts.

Say what you want about Spurrier, but the man wins games. He wouldn't talk the talk if he couldn't walk the walk. There were more than a few of us that wanted him here a few years back when he was struggling in the NFL.

I would like to comment on several things said about Spurrier, if I may. I used to feel the same way many of you do about him while he was coaching at Florida. I even cringed when I found out he was gonna be coaching at USC. Since he's been here, though, I've seen that he actually is a good person and a good coach. He certainly is a straight talker. You might hear him say something that sounds cocky, but he certainly says plenty of things about USC's deficiencies. Coach Spurrier, in fact, said before the LSU game that he didn't expect much from the LSU game. He said before and after the game that it wasn't an evenly matched game, and that USC was more evenly matched with Mississippi State and Kentucky. He is a very honorable and respectable man on and off the field, and he does give credit where credit is due.

Chicken I love your avatar. Takes me back to my youth when my Dad raised game chickens and sold them all over the world. Made good money on them too, $500 dollars a pop for a trio(2 hens and a rooster). He shipped them to places like Purto Rico, Mexico, and the Phillipines. He always loved South Carolina because they were the Gamecocks and rooted for ya'll when you were not playing his beloved Cats. He passed away before Carolina came into the conference and we played them every year.

On Spurrier, can't quite bring myself to like him, we've taken too many beatings against his teams, but that is our fault for not being more competetive. Hopefully we will turn that around this season as we have been turning around lots of trends this year.

Here's to a well played game on both sides and no injuries. We have a very tough road ahead but we are enjoying the ride!

GO BIG BLUE!!!
