PRESS RELEASE FROM UK - 10/8/7
The Florida at Kentucky football game on October 20 will be televised by CBS at 3:30 PM or Lincoln Financial Sports at 12:30pm, the SEC has announced.

CBS has exercised a six-day option with the Florida at UK game, along with the Tennessee at Alabama game. CBS will make its final selection on Sunday, six days in advance of the game date. The game CBS selects will be televised at 3:30pm on October 20th.

Lincoln Financial Sports will televise the game not selected by CBS. The Lincoln Financial Sports game will be televised at 12:30pm.

The Florida game will be Kentucky’s fifth nationally or regionally televised game so far this season.

Thanks for the info! This is a great thing for the program. You've got to get on television and get that exposure...especially if they manage to pull the upset.

Amen brother! I can remember all those years we could only get a Jefferson-Pilot broadcast, and that was because by contract they HAD to carry a game.

Yep, the JP contract said that they HAD to carry a game for each school in the conference. I think it was a game a year, and the only time they didn't observe it was if you were on probation from television appearances.

I am suprised ESPN didn't pick it up instead of LF. I thought they got second pick. I would much rather have a night game for that. Seems like a much better crowd at night than at 12:30.

No doubt, 12:30 sucks big time. Can ESPN still not pick it up?

I'm guessing that ESPN wants to have their games selected before the Sunday before the game so they can advertise them on their Saturday games. If CBS had just gone ahead and picked the UT-Bama game, then I think UK-Florida would be on ESPN or ESPN2.

As I just posted on another thread (before I saw this one) CBS has picked up UK/Florida as their national telecast beginning at 3:30 ET.

I'm not sure thats correct. We saw the same thing here at the station, but the official word from UK is what I quoted verbatim in this thread. If CBS has picked the Florida game, UK isn't saying so.
