NO. 1 LSU TIGERS (6-0). Les Miles rolled the dice, his team rolled on the ground, and the Tigers barely kept their claws dug into the No. 1 spot, beating defending national champion Florida, 28-24 on a late touchdown by Jacob Hester. LSU converted five fourth down plays and a fake field goal before a record crowd in Baton Rouge, but still needed Jacob Hester's short touchdown run inside the three-minute mark to hang on. Hester had his first 100-yard rushing game for the Tigers, who next travel to No. 17 Kentucky.

NO. 17 KENTUCKY WILDCATS (5-1). Let's hope UK fans enjoyed the first half of the season. The next two weeks, their heroes host LSU and Florida. QB Andre Woodson and RB Rafael Little can move the chains with anybody, but the Wildcat defense needs to step up. End of story.

The defense hasn't been a liability this season, IMO. I'd say that's an outdated and ill-informed throwaway in that article.

I agree Ole' School. During that long 3rd quarter last week, the defense was the only team putting a smile on my face!

Exactly. Our defense held South Carolina to MINUS 15 yards for the third quarter, which is unreal. More unreal is that South Carolina still gained FOUR points on us on the scoreboard, due to two most costly tunovers by the Cats' offense.

I hope our defenders get madder and madder as they read and hear negative statements made about them. The ESPN announcers were still talking about how UK's defense essentially never makes the opponent go three and out AFTER we had already done so a few times against SC and in the midst of that third quarter our defense was so dominating. Someone at ESPN FINALLY put up the yardage stats during that third quarter, catching the commentators' attention.

Sometimes reputation influences perception. Perception becomes reality, although it is not the actual truth. Yes, our offense has been mostly outstanding, but our defense has been outstanding at times and deserves credit, instead of insults.

Again, get mad , UK defenders, and take it out on future opponents!!! :):widcat:
