The top-ranked LSU Tigers take their game on the road this weekend for an SEC clash with the 17th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats.

LSU trailed for much of its game against Florida last weekend, but a fourth- quarter surge lifted the Tigers to a thrilling 28-24 victory. They are now 6-0, having won their first five games by no fewer than 12 points, including three wins by more than 40 points. This weekend's clash and next week's battle against Auburn appear to be the two toughest battles remaining on the schedule for LSU, which seems to have an outstanding chance of running the table.

As for Kentucky, it is coming off a 38-23 loss to South Carolina last week, but the Wildcats are still 5-1, marking their best start since 1984. They have won seven in a row at home and are in search of their first victory over the nation's top-ranked team since 1964.

LSU holds a commanding 38-15-1 advantage in the all-time series with Kentucky, and the Tigers crushed the Wildcats by a 49-0 final last season.

Coming off a thrilling victory Saturday, LSU coach Les Miles said he was unsure about how his team would shift their focus towards the No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats.

"I always ask the support staff around this team what they are hearing," Miles said. "I'm told that Sunday when they were stretching and relaxing, there was a great shift of attention to our opponent."

The Tigers have played the past four games without Senior wide reciever Early Doucet, who suffered a strained groin in practice
prior to the Middle Tennessee game.

Doucet has practiced some with the first team this week and he could see limited playing time this Saturday in Lexington, according to Miles.

THE Ohio State University takes on the Golden Flash (is that an Eagle or Hawk in their logo and what's that got to do with Golden Flash :shrug1:) anyway - the Buckeyes and Kent State strap it on in the 'shoe Saturday. Will be interesting to see the final score.
