View Full Version : Okay ESPN, so why not highlight the player that shoved Hansbrough down by his face?

ESPN has no class.
I wish we could send John Clay & Co. to Durham to uncover a scandal.
I hate Duke. I hate ESPN.
What a joke.
One of their pretty boys is a sore loser and pushes H-bro down by his face and they don't even comment on who did it.

"It was unintentional"
"Oh yeah, I guess he meant to do that"
Dockery, I think

It was intentional plain as day. And Hansbrough had every right to get upset about it.
Laetener must have give the pre game speech! ;)
That was about as blatant a mean shot as I've seen in a while. I can't imagine that Dickie V wouldn't have been howling and screaming for justice if it were any other team.
Still it was nice to see that Riddick is human after all. I've never seen him have a cool night before.
Every time I watch Hansbrough I just want to cry---that he isn't ours insted of theirs. We were that close to being a national champ this year IMO. Of course I'm assuming that if we'd had him Rondo wouldn't have been such a sore head about the way Tubby wanted the game played. And that Tubby would have given Tyler the same kind of freedom and offensive opportunities that he has at UNC---not sure though. The system, you know.

ESPN is one of the reasons Hansborough is not playing for Ky!
Redick has had plenty of cool nights. It's just that every time he does, Brad Nessler (or Patrick, or whomever) says, "I've never seen him have an off night like this before!"

Anyone remember Danny Ferry close lining Jeff Hall at the end of the game in the 1986 Championship Game? Maybe it is a conspiracy?:>

Should have been a technical foul called on the play....oh wait, this was at Duke...so both Dockery and Hansbrough would have had to receive a T.

Laettner stepping on Timberlake...Christensen takes on referee Bruce Benedict after IU knocks off the Dukies in Rupp...and the beat goes on

It doesn't matter. ESPN is ESPN and they'll continue to do what they want to do. That's what I've pretty much figured out. They'll continue to allow Duke to be their centerpiece for college basketball, and they'll continue to do stupid things like give this overhyped game three channels that I know of (ESPN, ESPN 2 for the "overhead", and ESPNU for the Cameron Crazies section).
ESPN has made this game bigger and bigger, they continue to propel Duke to a standard that no one else will ever come close to with them. Duke is a good ball club, don't get me wrong, but they aren't what ESPN makes them out to be.
I don't know about anyone else, but I could completely feel the biasness seaping out of the announcers tonight. Melcioni's diving steal, and then passing it off to another player for an easy dunk? They acted like it was the first time it's ever happened in the history of the game of basketball. It was so bad I think the other guy's headset fell off from his screaming so loud.

yea scars, you stole my thunder their. I can't beleive a walk wasn't called on the play. I mean, he had posession and slid a MILE! Give me a break. The only way this dUKe lovefest stops is for another team to come out and dominate opponents for years. However, knowing that doesn't happen anymore(& ESPN knows this) they can just keep on going wth it because it can't be stopped.

The thing that gets me about Duke and the media is how the national media makes them out to be a class act program. Watch them when they lose, they're one of the less classisest programs in the country. I thought it was a cowardly thing to do against FSU when they cleared thier bench before the game ended. I understand K was worried about his players safety but take it like a man. Then Dockery's clearly intentional foul last nite just shows what kind of sad losers they really are. I'm not a Carolina fan but it was priceless to see Duke lose on Senior nite at home. The "Cameron Crazies" cam was priceless after the game..lol
