ESPN has outdone themselves

The over-hype of the DUK-UNC game was bad enough. Every angle was shown except from a coach's orifice. (But they have been up K's rear for so long that that view was already known). THREE CHANNELS showed the game, spewed the hype and gave 2 teams in the ACC the recruiting advantage no other school receives from a network other than Notre Dame football.

We hear Vitale screaming in orgasm when Melchioni makes a heads up play from the floor to pass to an open man. I swear I thought Vitale was dying ....or worse. Other "great plays" from UNC received something a littleless than that from the master of hype. In fact when UNC won the game, DUKE went from the greatest team in the land to a team in trouble. In the post game analysis in ESPN2, Vitale was absolutely solemn in his views. No smiles from the conclusion of the "GREATEST RIVALRY IN THE WORLD" hype. No waving his arms in glee about what he witnessed. His DUKIES just lost. The darlings of ESPN lay an egg on Sr. Night.

But the greatest idiocy of all is the over analysis of JJ Redick. He had a miserable game by all standards. And now he is emotionally spent, according to Vitale. He is to be felt sorry for because people use vulgarity at him. Perhaps big mouth Vitale should be in Rupp when Tubby messes up or loses a game if he wants to hear ridicule. Or maybe he should go to Florida when UK comes in and listen tot the Rowdy Reptiles and their little vilgarities thrown at our players. Then we hear about how Redick is chewing gum when he doesn't normally chew gum. OMG...could that be it?

OMG....IT IS NOT THE SHOES...IT'S THE GUM!!!

ESPN...the hype masters. Sorry, I ain't buying it anymore. I have had enough of the ACC and DUKE forced down my throat.

Dick Vitale has been nominated ( again) for the Basketball Hall of Fame. If this man gets in the Hall of Fame then I hope it burns down. He jumps on band wagons and when the wheels come off of the wagon he makes excuses. Every thing ukbob said is exactly how I felt watching and listening to the game. I do not envy Duke as much as I despise the over hype and the attitude of the coach and players when they lose a game. I view it as classless and that is being kind.

Duke lost to a team with more talent and they were outcoached last night.

UNC's four frosh outscored Duke's four seniors in the game. And Duke's seniors all play a lot of minutes and include two All Americans. If you want to see what great recruiting and great coaching can acheive with a young team, watch the UNC-Duke game last night.

BTW, on that "amazing hustle play" by Melchioni, did anyone bother to notice he TRAVELLED with the ball? You can't slide across the floor 6 feet with the ball. It's a TO and should've been called. Of course, Dook Vitale failed to point this out.

Coach K might be a HOF coach, but he never got Sheldon Williams to quit fouling too much, or travelling 4 times a game. K never figures out to utilize more than 7 guys a year and his team is WORN OUT yet again at the season's end. Dook looked far from a Final Four team last night. UNC looked much more the part.
