I would like the Kentucky fan's opinion on the keys to beating UF Saturday. Thanks.:icon_biggrin:

Contain Tebow and make him throw the ball. I am not saying he is not a good throwing qb but I would much rather have him passing than running. Have our senior leadership take advantage of their youth and make them make mistakes and capitalize on them.

1. Complete passes.
2. Run the ball well.
3. Prevent UF from scoring.
4. At the end of the game, have more points.

The is only one thing UK needs to do to beat Florida.

Just score more points than they do.

Just Win Baby!!!!!!!!

Triple 7 Post!!! Can it get any better??????

I'm looking for keys to winning. Not the obvious 'having more points' :icon_lol:

It's not just Tebow that needs to be contained. We have to limit Percy Harvin rather it be running or receiving. Tebow likes to run it up the gut so the cats need to get good pressure on the line and make him go sideways. Kentucky has not done anything to make me beleive we can't win this game. Your defense is not very good. Ours isn't either but we haven't given up the usual amount of big plays that we normally do. This will be a Kentucky team Florida fans have never seen before. Will it be enough for a win? I think so. I like our offenses chances against your D better than I like your offense against our D. IMO it will be a high scoring contest:
UK 38
UF 34

Let's compare the Kentucky and Florida defenses:

Kentucky:

PPG: 26.3

RYPG: 194.7

PYPG: 186.6

TYPG: 381.3

Florida:

PPG: 21.0

RYPG: 94.0

PYPG: 230.0

TYPG: 324.2

Therefore: ADV: Florida

yes, but you haven't faced andre' and his gang:big_grin:. lsu had some very impressive defensive numbers and couldn't stop them.

honestly this game is a hard one to call. i've seen florida several times this season and slowing down tebow is a must. i'd expect your young defense is starting to grow up and i know they will be a huge challange. i cant't wait...

Yeah. Should be a good game. LSU though in my opinion was very overrated this year. I had been saying all year they aren't that good and will lose a game or two. We couldn't hold on but I was glad when you guys beat them. They may not lose again till the SECCG, though.

yea, we win out, you beat USCjr and we beat lsu again in the seccg, only by 40 this time.

it will be a good game i have no doubts about that. i probably shouldn't say this on this board but i'm looking forward to getting see tebow live.

I believe bringing pressure to TT is suicide. "Soft" rush him, maintaining rushing lanes, ensuring DEs stay wider than he is. Behind the D-line, play a lot of nickle coverage. You give up pocket time for sure, but you have to make TT a one dimensional QB as much as possible.

make him beat us, cover him with a spy all game and rush many blitzes, and let the o play like it has

- Don't let the Gators jump out ahead early.
- Ring Tebows bell early and often.
- Don't turn the ball over like we did against USCjr
- Hold down the mistakes on both sides of the ball.
- Be close at the end.

We do the above and just play our game and we win.

How about you GatorGuy, what are yourall's keys to a W?

Glad you asked:

1. Pressure Woodson. He can throw the ball very well and if you give him time he is deadly accurate.
2. Better play calling on offense. The last few games I've seen very questionable play calling by the coaches. Almost as if we were playing not to lose instead of playing to win. I expect Meyer to pull out a few tricks and be more aggressive in the play calling.
3. Turnovers. We need to not turn the ball over on offense and create a few on defense. It is possible to win when turning it over but if we limit them on both sides we have a much better chance of winning.
4. Penalties. Against LSU we only had I believe 3 penalties, a great improvement over our just under 10 penalty a game average coming in.
5. Continue to improve on defense. Each week it seems a part of out defense gets better. If we continue to improve, we will be a great defense come seasons end. If we continue to do the little things better we should be alright.

If we do all these things, there is no doubt in my mind we will win the game.

Our team has been winning because we have had more in the tank in the second half. Our D steps up a notch or two and the O seems to be a step faster. I just hope that trend continues. LSU may have given Florida a helping hand in tiring us out. If we jump out on them early, that will give us the cushion we will need for a waning defense in the second half. But then again, all that might not matter. This team does have heart and finds a way to win no matter what.

Exactly...everybody around here is just talking about TEBOW this and TEBOW that.

It would be a big mistake to not account for Harvin. He will torch you.
