Both Northwestern and Indiana have five wins now. They play each other later this year, and Indiana plays Ball State later in the season, so I thought at least one of the two is almost certain to go to a bowl game. But, there are already nine teams in the Big Ten with at least five wins. Surely that many teams from that conference won't go bowling?

I'm not a fan of that conference, but it is nice to see those two teams (Northwestern and Indiana) winning some games for a change. I'd love to see each of them lay some lumps on conference opponents, especially Michigan and Ohio State and Wisconsin.

All teams in that conference have at least two losses now, except for Ohio State. I'd like to see the Buckeyes end up with a couple of Ls also.

Itīs amazing to see Indiana bounce back after Coach Hoeppner passed. He was doing a great job with them, and their success this year is proof that he had set the table.

I agree. It's been cool to see them do well. They played very well against Penn State yesterday and could have won that game.

I really hope Ohio State takes a loss. The best chance for that might be at Penn State next weekend. After that they get Wisconsin and Illinois at home, then play at Michigan. None of those three teams particularly impress me.

Minnesota lost to North Dakota State yesterday. I think that is really funny and speaks volumes about the Big Ten.

Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State and Wisconsin are all likely candidates to be UK's bowl opponent at the end of this season.

Yet another reason why the bowl system is flawed. You can win 4 non-conference games against Nobody U. and then go 2-6 in conference (see: Iowa last year) and yet still make a bowl game.

Look at OSU, the so called #1. NO wins against any top 20 (because they haven't played anyone) Purdue came in at 23rd after beating no one. They have beaten, Wash 2-5. Minn 1-7. Youngstown St 5-3. Akron 3-4. NWestern 5-3. Purdue 6-2. Kent St 3-5 and Mich St 5-3.
LSU has played 5 top 20 teams in their 8 games and UK has played 4 top 20 in their 8 games. And it may have been 5 because I thought Ark was 22nd when the Cats played them.
Bottom line is the Big Least has 2 teams (OSU and Mich) and one of them lost to App. St.

I have also been pulling for Indiana because of Coach H (and Jordan will hopefully forgive me, under the circumstances). It was a shame that they lost that one yesterday.

Coach H, and that they're playing Big Ten opponents (sorry, I just don't really like those persistently-overrated programs), and that they're (most of the time) underdogs. Of all the teams to shake up the Big Ten, it would be fun to see Indiana do it.

Their long-suffering fans deserve it.

It isn't big and it isn't ten. I'd be embarassed to be rooting for any team in that lowly conference this year. Whoever wins out in the SEC will kill OS again this year.

O no... You just can't do this to me :). I feel bad for coach hep and most of his players but there will NEVER be a day when I will root for IU.

I never watch big ten football, except in a bowl game against an sec team. I can't stand arrogant OSU fans. Their conference seems weak this season, imho. It appears that OSU may get a title shot, becaust the rest of their conference is garbage.

The Big Ten is so dumb...

How dumb are they??

They do not know how many teams are in the conference.

I know. Too, I understand. Please understand and forgive me, though. I at least THOUGHT about you and your strong feelings about Indiana. :icon_biggrin:

Even the Big Ten doesn't want to count IU.

With a twelve game season, six wins should not make anybody bowl eligible, I don't care what anybody says. If you can't have a winning season, then you don't deserve to go to a bowl.

The rules should have changed with the extra game added.
