Pikeville College will kick off its season on the biggest court in the state tonight when the Bears play the University of Kentucky in an exhibition game.
The Bears are excited to get a shot at playing UK. A few of the players follow the Wildcats, but don’t look for any of them to be cheering for UK tonight.
“It’s a once in a lifetime game,” said Pikeville College forward William “Bo” Harris, who hails from Winchester. “My father and his father and my family are all UK fans. There’s nothing else I can ask for as a college athlete than to play against UK.”
Pikeville College freshman and former Belfry standout Jamie Case also follows the Wildcats, but tomorrow night they are enemy No. 1 in his eyes.
“I myself am a huge Kentucky fan, but tomorrow night I’m going to hate them for probably an hour and a half or two hours,” Case said. “All my family and friends bleed blue, but tomorrow night I’m a part of the Pikeville College Bears.”
This is the ideal debut game for Case to start off his career as a Bear.
