Always worries me when we compete for recruits against lesser schools.
I have no clue how good this kid is but where are the high D-1 schools other than UK?
Just thinking out loud. If we get Singleton, then Stutz is a great complimentary player based only what I have read.
I trust Gillespie.

For those who have seen him, how does he compare to Big Mike?

But Stutz doesn't have an offer yet, right? So we're not actually competing for him. If we offered, he'd commit on the spot.

Liggins, Singleton, Miller and Stutz would be an outstanding class, especially when you consider the fact that Billy G has only recruited as the UK coach for 6 months. Sutz is a kid who can come in and develop and we can have others who can play right away.

Tough. I don't know anything about his game and have never seen him play, but judging by our lack of offering, I think he is (and understands he is) a backup plan.

We don't need another "big man project"; we have had too many of those lately. I would much prefer Singleton, if he would only prefer us!

I read an article about him the other day and the fact that he went about picking his schools differently. He picked one school from three different levels of size. I.e. UK big time basketball school, Witchata St medium size school, SMU smaller school. Something along those lines atleast.

Because he didn't have any other choices.....I'm sure his philosophy on this would have changed greatly if any other decent school was considering him. I am sick of the Shagaris, Woos, Carters, Williams, etc....we need a big man who can come in and play right away not take 3 years to produce one decent year.

Why would you even put Williams in that list he hasn't even had a chance to develop past three games and you are already lumping him in with all the others.

Maybe there is a chance Williams develops, but my guess is that he will be a similar player to Shagari or Woo, nothing more. Just not enough talent there, nothing against the kid and I hope he does well I just don't think he is a UK caliber player

Well he has already played more than either combined in there first season. He has a big body and he moves well for a guy his size why do you not think he has the talent? Because he didn't have the stars? Neither did Meeks but he turned out pretty good.

Get your facts straight before you start shooting off your mouth, making you look silly. Meeks was a 4 star recruit ranked #39 in the country!!!
Williams was a 2 star not ranked in the top 200 on anyone's rankings

I think you might want to ease up on the replies. I was wrong Meeks was a four star but that doesn't make him a highly touted recruit coming out. As I remember a lot of people had never heard of him when Tubby first recruited him it wasn't until later that he came on.

Rankings are starting to mean little about a player. What does a higher ranking say? That the guy has been to more sneaker camps. You see headlines of a player "shooting up the rankings", it means that he has had a good game at camp, where national people were there to see him play well, not to mention that he has been playing like this all along for his high school team back when he was "below the radar".
