N'Diaye is from Senegal who hasn't played very long (3-4 years) and used to play soccer (think: athletic even at 7'1"). Academics is somewhat of an issue with N'Diaye since he is trying to get his academics transferred to the US and see where he stands with the NCAA Clearinghouse. May have to go the JUCO route next year.

Interesting! Wouldn't mind having another Jules Camara on the team. He would be a player that could suprise people.

Any 7 footer than can play soccer has to have some mobility unless he was the goalie. LOL

I don't know. Camara was a player who didn't really improve much physically, or in terms of basketball contributions, during his four years. Each year, I hoped he would add some muscle, improve his aggressiveness, etc. Never happened. I think his diet, restricted by his religious convictions, were a major hindrance to his improvement. I'd rather have a Magloire or an Estill.

He might not have developed much but he was a good player. Not great but he was good enough to play D1 college basketball

To me, Camera was the most puzzling player ever to wear the Blue and White. Some games, he looked like a world beater. Other games, he looked like he was completely lost on the court. He seemed like a nice guy, and I believe he wanted to be successful at basketball. As has been pointed out in this thread, he never developed the muscle that would have made him a better basaketball player.

He would be more athletic IMO if he were the goalie. I played soccer growing up and goalie is all about moving fast and being agile. If the kid has these qualities at 7'1" he might be very scary in the NCAA.

Well I guess stamina is more important as an other player on the field in soccer. I was not trying to imply that goalies weren't athletic becuase thay all have to be athletic to play that game. I can make it up and down field once without needing a break.

Haha, stamina makes sense, I just figure all 7 footers are going to be slow. Maybe not if the kid played soccer. Something tells me he wanted to play soccer his whole life (an accepted world sport) until someone said, "hey you, mister 7 footer, why don't you give basketball a shot?"

Sweet avatar by the way. I'm down on that field somewhere in the background...

Thanks I had to calm my brother down from jumping up and down and hugging everyone long enough to get that picture.
