Xavier Gibson, a 6'10 forward, committed to FSU this morning. That should help our chances with Singleton.

Should. But I think FSU would use more to the advantage of projecting Chris as a 3. But it might help some.

Why would somebody want to go to FSU??

This guy (Xavier Gibson) committed today to Florida State. Why do you care? Well he is a big man, with loads of athleticism, who will join the Florida State 2008 class. Sound like someone else you know? Yes, this news could pave the way for Chris Singleton to pass on the Seminoles and join the Big Blue. He and Gibson have similar games and this may be the impetus for Chris to go ahed and pull the Big Blue trigger. However a pessimist might say that this solves Florida State's big man need and now they can sell Singleton on playing more on the perimeter, which is not where Chris's true talents lie, but it is where he sees himself on the next level. Either way, interesting news and sure to have some effect on Singleton's decision….which could come as early as next week.

If this guy has similar size and ability then why wouldn't he want to move to the 3 as well. I think that if a player commits you same year and same general ability that would make you think twice about a team. Even more so if the other school you are looking at needs someone of your particular talents. Heck we could sell him on the same concept with all of the versitale Forwards we have on our roster Chris could easily play SF with Stevenson/Patterson/Stewart/Harris and Patterson/Williams/Stevenson at the PF and C. There are a ton of combos that we could throw out there with Chris, Miller, and Liggons on our roster. Not to mention if we get Stutz as well.
