I have to crow a little, since I´m a graduate of Lone Oak in Paducah. Since I can ever remember, LOHS has been a doormat in football, with 1-10 being the norm.
Jack Haskins is turning it around, though. Yes, he´s the dad of former UK QB Billy Jack Haskins. He has the Purple Flash 10-0, thanks to his QB, Corey Robinson.
Last night, Lone Oak shellacked Heath 59-13, and Robinson broke the state record for touchdown passes in a season, passing the likes of Chris Redman, Jared Lorenzen, and Tim Couch, and now sits at 65 for the season. Add in playoff games, and he might throw 80. Pretty amazing.

Update: Last night, Robinson led Lone Oak to a 38-35 victory over Warren East to earn their first trip ever to the state championship game against Lex. Catholic.
Robinson is now up to 90 TDs thrown for the year, which is a national HS record. He´s also broken the state record for yards thrown, which is over 5,000 now.
I´m one proud alumni, if you couldn´t tell!

Has UK made any contact with the kid? Last I heard there wasn't many offers. My old high school was a game away from playing LO and I was really hoping to see him play. I might try to catch the title game, I'm guessing it is at the Pizza Pit again this year.
I wouldn't be surprised to see some scholly offers start to come in after the title game. He has also torched two good defenses the last two playoff games (north bullitt and Warren). If he doesn't get an offer from UK I hope he doesn't end up somewhere like Vandy or even worse UL, you know how those things usually turn out for us.

From what I understand, he only has some I-AA (sorry, I refuse to call it the new terminology) offers, but you may be right. Down at the western part of the state (east of Hopkinsvile, that is), not many kids have gone to UK.
CRB was asked about Robinson on his show last Monday night, and his response, other than "I can´t talk about specific kids," was "I don´t like to hurt anybody´s feelings." So, there you have it. At present, he lists UK, Louisville, Ole Miss, Murray State, and Eastern as his choices. His coach is the father of Billy Jack Haskins, if that means anything.
The game IS at the Pizza Pit.

As a fellow western Kentuckian, I'm enjoying this as well. I'm hoping he can do us proud against Lex. Cath next weekend.
Brian, when did you go to Lone Oak? My earliest memory of Lone Oak is of our team (Crittenden) scrimmaging them, and our All-stater (Ronnie Moss) being injured in that scrimmage. Missed his entire senior season.
There was talk on the radio two weeks ago, during the play-off game with Calloway, that LSU had called and requested some game film.

I was looking at his stats and while they're amazing, I can't help but wonder about them. Lone Oak won most of it's regular season games in complete blowouts. Some of their scores were 51-0, 56-3, 59-6, 69-19, 45-14 and so on. Outside of one overtime win, the 45-14 win was their closest game of the season.
I saw where the Robinson kid has nearly all of their passing yards and they have hardly any rushing yards all season. So in these blowouts, are they just passing and passing and passing with their starting quarterback? That seems kinda dirty to me. They played some really small, traditionally bad schools in the regular season. Did they leave the Robinson kid in there just to pad his stats at the other kids' expense?

Lone Oak played a pretty weak schedule, if he has a big game against Lex Cath, with the likes of Winston Guy at DB, then I'll be impressed.
I'll be at the game with my brother, he played on Lex Cath's first four seasons of football in the early 90's; and my wife is a Lex Cath grad.
Anybody else going ?

Couldn´t tell you, honestly. But for as long as I can remember, big schools like Paducah Tilghman have been pounding Lone Oak 59-0, so there you go.

No matter what, 90 TDs is impressive. Mostly, LO plays a dink-and-dunk offense. They DO stretch the field from time to time, and they DO run the ball, but most of their yards come from the short passing game.
Have fun at the game. I´ll be interested to hear how it turns out.
