Zeller will sit behind Davis and others for 3-4 years - Purdue would've been a smarter choice for more immediate PT.

The previous staff never even recruited Zeller at all. How can you not recruit a quality player like that in your backyard so to speak?

Gillispie didn't recruit him before this summer either. Zeller didn't really begin to blossom until playing AAU ball this summer.

I thought he was Purdue bound from the start.

Billy G. didn't get in area until April.........so maybe he needed to observe. Something the other staff should have been doing.

Sorry - I thought you would understand what I meant when I said "Zeller didn't really begin to blossom until playing AAU ball this summer." If the previous coaching staff (or any coaching staff) had secured a commitment prior to this past summer, the commitment would have been termed "a project". Zeller hadn't played in any shoe camps or competed in AAU ball prior to this past summer, therefore his exposure to folks outside of Indiana has been limited.

It could be argued that Billy Gillispie has known about Zeller for some time. He was likely recruiting his brother Luke before he left the Illinois coaching staff to coach UTEP.
