there have been alot of theories on this board. BG threw the game, we couldn't shoot, couldn't D, no adjustments.
to me, the game was lost in the first 5 min. think about it...they get up 14-0, but win by 16. so over the last 35 minutes, they "outplayed" us by 2 whole points. the first 5 minutes were played by Coury, Patterson, Bradley, Meeks, and Porter. personally, I think it's hard to blame the other guys for not digging us out of the hole that these 5 (and BG for not calling a TO) created. I remember a point late in the second half where we were down 7 and Jodie missed a 3 that would have cut it to 4. instead, they come down and hit a trey and it's a 10 point game. It doesn't take a mathematician to realize that from the point we were down 14 to the point Jodie bricked the 3, we had "outplayed" them by 7 points ( a span of roughly, what...25-30 min) reminds me alot of the alabama game last year where we dug a huge hole early, and lost despite "outplaying" the tide for the better part of the game.
I'm not sure that I agree with the starting of whoever has a good practice that day. Tubby tried that last year with his graded practices and many made fun of him for resorting to last ditch efforts. really, does anyone here think Mike Porter should be starting against anyone? Is the Coury Flurry all it's cracked up to be?
not to second guess BG but I say go with the experience to start and if we get down...say, 7-0, CALL A FREAKING TIMEOUT. in the exhibs he was calling timeouts if somebody breathed the wrong way. why the hell do we have to get down 14-0 before he decides enough is enough?
