If you don't get it. UNC lost to Santa Clara. Who the hell's Santa Clara? Then they won NCAA Championship. I'm not saying we'll make it this year we MIGHT. I'm just saying that we could bounce back just like they did.

Santa Clara to Gardener Webb is a really bad comparison.

Santa Clara is not a bad program. They've had some pretty decent players in the past (Kurt Rambis and Steve Nash), they've been in the NCAA Tournament a while and they place in a conference much better than the A-Sun.

Regardless of what you just said, Santa Clara still is NOT a comparable program to North Carolina. Not even close.:shrug1:

Gardner Webb used to have Artis Gilmore.

BowlingGreenUKGrad never said thet were comparable to UNC. UNC was ranked number one but Santa Clara has made the NCAA tourney and has also knocked out the #2 seed in the tourney.

Chaminade (NAIA) beating Ralph Sampson's Virginia team would be a better comparisson. Before the UK game, Gardner's Webb's best win was against Minnesota (with a rpi of 83). They had never beaten a SEC team before.

The one thing between the Carolina-Santa Clara game and the UK-G Webb game that is similar is that both teams played without their starting point guard.

And Steve Nash sucked until he was surrounded by premium players.

And ill go out on a limb here and say "were not going to win the NC this year" lol Its just not possible IMO even tho that hurts me to say it.

I'm not comparing. I'm just making a point. Like I said we proably won't win NCAA Championship. Maybe.

I hear you. Kentucky does not have enough depth on the inside. UNC was loaded with tons of NBA talent and UK currenly has no one on the first, second or third string all SEC.

Whats scary is that we have the talent (If it emerges) to have 4 eople on the all SEC teams. Whenever I think of this team, I don't think of what we are right now, I think of what we CAN be come March. I said it before the season started: We will take some hits early, but these losses will help this team develop. I didn't think one of those hits was going to be Gardner Webb and I never want to see UK lose, but a bad loss will light a fire under these guys much in the same way that UNC's loss in 2004 did.

Your point is valid but the comparison is inaccurate. Coming from the Bay Area I can tell you that Santa Clara (for what its worth) has pushed Gonzaga for the past few seasons in contrast to a GW team that seems to have come out of nowhere.
