Kentucky just went up 3-0 on a 38 yard field goal. Vandy's defense has been TOUGH so far!

Go Big Blue!

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 03:03 PM
Kentucky 3 Vanderbilt 7 Vanderbilt touchdown after a Kentucky turnover. We need for that to be our last one today.

What a throw by Woodson. 55yd TD to Johnson. 10-7 Cats.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 03:10 PM
Kentucky 10 Vanderbilt 7 Woodson to Steve Johnson for a long TD pass! Go Big Blue!! We got the lead again, now let's get the ball back and keep it!

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 03:19 PM
Kentucky 10 Vanderbilt 13. I'm already sick of hearing that foghorn! Come on Cats, play tough!

Rockober
11-10-2007, 03:23 PM
It sounds like there alot of holes in UK's d. UK has killed themselves with penalties. I blieve they have four-15 yard penalties.

I do like UK's chances if this becomes a high scoring game.

11-10-2007, 03:24 PM
I would have thought with Little and Burton back today our offensive would be explosive

misterbluecat
11-10-2007, 03:30 PM
Too many penalties. 8 for 90yds thus far. We're getting big plays from the offense, but that's being neutralized by the penalties.

Oh, and not for nothing but the officals haven't helped either. They've made some bad calls or let others slip by on both sides of the ball.

EDIT: Wisconsin won 37-21 over Michigan.

TrueblueCATfan
11-10-2007, 03:32 PM
wow..the refs just blew that call..should be KY ball

largebluej
11-10-2007, 03:33 PM
if the play had been blown dead, why did they let us challenge in the first place??? We should get our time out back!!!!!

BigblueDrew
11-10-2007, 03:34 PM
Good old SEC Officials. Say the play CAN"T be reviewed for being whistled dead and charge us for a time out anyway. Incompatent fools.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 03:34 PM
The referees are either totally incompetent or or totally corrupt. Maybe both!

TrueblueCATfan
11-10-2007, 03:35 PM
3 BLIND mice......announcers are giving them hell

misterbluecat
11-10-2007, 03:41 PM
They deserve it, they blew that call big time. If it was dead, why let us challenge and then charge us the timeout anyway? Lame.

TrueblueCATfan
11-10-2007, 03:45 PM
sounds like UK has a great crowd down there in Nashville

Brandon
11-10-2007, 03:46 PM
Great kick Lonas!

I love Tom Leach :D

BigblueDrew
11-10-2007, 03:46 PM
WHERE DID THEY FIND THIS OLD COOT OFFICIATING THIS GAME!!!!. The worst I've seen in several years.

TrueblueCATfan
11-10-2007, 03:46 PM
13-13....tie game after a FG..way to go Lones

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 03:51 PM
Kentucky 13 Vanderbilt 13! Kentucky ties it on a 54 yard field goal! Kentucky must get better play on both sides of the line in the second half.
I wonder if the injured official will be able to go in the second half. If not, perhaps there is a blind Vanderbilt fan in attendance. He should be able to fill in quite well.

Officiating not withstanding, we must overcome. If we lose, it'll count the same no matter what the reason.

You're absolutely right, Matt. I remember a cheer we used to do when I was at Campbellsville College. We just gotta win! I know this is a big game for Vanderbilt, but it is HUGE for us, too. With Mississippi State's win over Alabama today, they became the 10th SEC team to become bowl elgible. Vanderbilt is seeking to become the 11th. There isn't enough post-season gravy to go around and somebody's going to be left out. It is time for Kentucky to get mad and get bad. Or as the Campbellsville College cheerleaders would put it, WE JUST GOTTA WIN!!

BigblueDrew
11-10-2007, 04:19 PM
Good drive,4 down territory here I think.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 04:21 PM
Yes!! Touchdown! Kentucky 20 Vanderbilt 13. Come on defense! It think it is so important to get a score on our opening drive of the 2nd half.

misterbluecat
11-10-2007, 04:27 PM
Man the D needs to step it up. It's tough without #2 in the secondary though.

BigblueDrew
11-10-2007, 04:30 PM
On ball official made no call, guy way off the play has to make it, awful officiating. Put one in on this drive and I think Vandy will fold.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 04:31 PM
Defensive stop, Kentucky! We bent on Vandy's first drive, but did not break.

BigblueDrew
11-10-2007, 04:33 PM
Finally, that paly has been there ALL day.

bellbrass
11-10-2007, 04:34 PM
This game reminds me of the UK-Tennessee game in 2002. Every time we went to snap the ball, we had a penalty called on us. It was as if the officials were watching the players only for holding and encroachment and nothing else.

The missed fumble no-call was inexcusable today. They reviewed it and still refused to call it a fumble.

BigblueDrew
11-10-2007, 04:39 PM
Same blitz, no adjustment. Crap

TrueblueCATfan
11-10-2007, 04:39 PM
Woodson goes down again..come on O-line help your QB out..we needed a score on that drive

bellbrass
11-10-2007, 04:42 PM
Officials are trying to call every possible penalty. Two defensive pass interference calls on the same drive! The shootout will be who gets the last penalty, not the last score!

Piecoro: "I've seen better officiating at a PeeWee football game."

After Miss. St., teams are going to blitz us for the whole game. Let's please come up with a solution besides a sack or the dump-off to Little.

misterbluecat
11-10-2007, 04:44 PM
Wow, these officials BLOW. TWO pass interference calls on this drive that shouldn't have been called. Well, the first one was close but the 2nd was a clean deflection.

Add the last play on the late hit to the 'Should never have been called'. Good legal hit in bounds. Someone get these officials a clue.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 04:44 PM
Officials are getting worse.

Rockober
11-10-2007, 04:46 PM
The officiating sounds to be horrendous. As I just heard on the radio, "I've seen better officiating in pee wee football".

The officials are letting this game get out of hand it sounds like.

bellbrass
11-10-2007, 04:46 PM
Officials are trying to give the game to Vandy. 3 UK defensive plays, 3 penalties in a row - all bogus!!!!!

On a positive note, it's great to hear all of the UK fans in attendance. Keep booing! :)

BigblueDrew
11-10-2007, 04:47 PM
Can, fight city hall folks. Having to play 11 agianst 15 in this one. I really, really HATE SEC officiating.

bellbrass
11-10-2007, 04:54 PM
Wow, two plays in a row without a penalty on UK!

misterbluecat
11-10-2007, 04:56 PM
They'll probably find some BS reason to call a penalty on us on this 3rd down, like picking our nose or scratching our butts.:icon_mrgreen:

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 04:56 PM
Well, with all the help the referees gave Vanderbilt, we were able to hold them scoreless for the 3rd quarter. The bad news is, our defense is tired and Vanderbilt is mad after their player got hurt.

TrueblueCATfan
11-10-2007, 04:58 PM
come on CATS..lets put this game away....we need it

misterbluecat
11-10-2007, 04:58 PM
Wow, NO POINTS for Vandy on that drive. Missed FG. Let's go offense, need a score.

TrueblueCATfan
11-10-2007, 04:59 PM
Missed FG..................LETS GO CATS

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 04:59 PM
Vandy misses their field goal attempt. Now our offense needs to keep the ball and give our defense some rest. (A score would be nice, too.)

Rockober
11-10-2007, 04:59 PM
Thank goodness the officials are not kicking fieldgoals;) Vandy misses and UK can take charge with another score here.

BigblueDrew
11-10-2007, 05:01 PM
Just a horrible series. Very uninspired play calling by Joker and crap execution by offense.

TrueblueCATfan
11-10-2007, 05:02 PM
this sucks.....no score again
what is wrong with our offense..they had 2 weeks off to prepare

misterbluecat
11-10-2007, 05:02 PM
Another 3 and done. Just 9 plays for us since our last scoring drive. The D really needs a break and they aren't getting it. Masthay bombed that punt though and the coverage was great.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 05:02 PM
Disappionted in our offense on that last drive. 3 and out. Short rest for the defense. Great punt and kick coverage. I think our special teams have outplayed Vanderbilt's special teams today. (so far)

BigblueDrew
11-10-2007, 05:04 PM
The defense is gassed. Be lucky to keep the lead.

Rockober
11-10-2007, 05:09 PM
3rd and 2. If they don't make it I believe they will go for it.

BigblueDrew
11-10-2007, 05:10 PM
Somebody doesn't step up on offense we lose this one.

Rockober
11-10-2007, 05:11 PM
Vandy has 227 yards rushing so far.

BigblueDrew
11-10-2007, 05:13 PM
WE have been outplayed and OUTCOACHED in this one, very frustrating to watch as we are more talented. Very , very lucky to be ahead.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 05:15 PM
Kentucky 20 Vanderbilt 20 Come on offense! Our backs are to the wall and we need a score.

Rockober
11-10-2007, 05:15 PM
WE have been outplayed and OUTCOACHED in this one, very frustrating to watch as we are more talented. Very , very lucky to be ahead.

And off a bye week. Tie ball game. UK must score on this drive. Thank goodness Vandy is having trouble kicking field goals and xtra points.

Rockober
11-10-2007, 05:16 PM
Cats have 122 yards in penalties. Its hard to win with that many but the CATS still have a great chance.

BigblueDrew
11-10-2007, 05:17 PM
This is THE drive of our season IMO. Andre HAS to step up and LEAD. We go three and out and we are in desperate trouble.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 05:17 PM
Great return by Burton! Now our offense needs to take it to the end zone!

Rockober
11-10-2007, 05:19 PM
Locke "freshman of the year"

TrueblueCATfan
11-10-2007, 05:20 PM
what has happened to this team..where is that high powered offense we saw the first 5 games........lets go CATS

misterbluecat
11-10-2007, 05:21 PM
THAT is how you play some football. Great drive, good calls on the line by Andre.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 05:22 PM
Touchdown Kentucky!! Kentucky 27 Vanderbilt 20 I wish our defense could have got a longer rest, but you have to score when there is an opportunity.

Rockober
11-10-2007, 05:22 PM
TD for Locke!! Nice drive CATS. Now all they need to do is hold them one more time. Heres hoping there are less than three flags thrown on this upcoming series.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 05:25 PM

There's the first flag on the first play. But it's on Vanderbilt!

Vandy going for it on fourth down

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 05:28 PM
Now the referees missed a holding call on Vanderbilt.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 05:30 PM
what happened to Little ..just heard he was hurt again

I believe the announcers said he took a helmet to the back.

Rockober
11-10-2007, 05:32 PM
1:27 left in the game. Can the CATS hang on?

misterbluecat
11-10-2007, 05:33 PM
I hope so. They are really playing inspired D this time even though they are look like they are out of gas.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 05:36 PM
At least the time out by Vandy will give our defense a little rest.

Rockober
11-10-2007, 05:36 PM
This is the third 4th down that Vandy has gone for in this series.

Rockober
11-10-2007, 05:38 PM
Vandy out of timeouts. A sack here may put this one away.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 05:39 PM
This is the third 4th down that Vandy has gone for in this series.

And the 3rd one they've made. Come on defense, keep them out of the end zone.

misterbluecat
11-10-2007, 05:39 PM
Our guys are out of gas. Let's go D. Dig in and stop them!

Brandon
11-10-2007, 05:40 PM

Tom Blevins

Yes! Kentucky takes over on downs! A game effort by Vanderbilt but Kentucky wins! We're going bowling!

misterbluecat
11-10-2007, 05:42 PM
That sack on 2nd down was HUGE. That made the difference right there.

BigblueDrew
11-10-2007, 05:53 PM
Gritty finish for the Cats. It wasn't pretty but as my old college coach used to say, "This aint no fashion show." GO CATS.

Tom Blevins
11-10-2007, 05:54 PM
I feel like I've been through a war and my fellow posters on this thread were in the foxhole with me. Thanks guys. I don't think I could have made it through this nailbiter without you.

Thank Goodness we came out with a Win. The way the officials were calling the game, I would not have been surprised to see them penalize UK to the point where they escorted Vandy into the end zone.

UK's offense was good enough, but where has our passing game gone? I guess with Little and Dixon back on the bench, Tamme, Burton & Johnson saved our butts. We need to expect constant blitzes the next two (or three) games, though. I can promise the Vols will be rushing Andre, bet on it.

Don't forget Locke. He had great second half making a crucial third down and 4 on a draw play and then finishing the long drive with a 5 yard scamper into the end zone.
