We must have the offense back on track like they were playing in the begining of the season to win this one. I hate to say it but i dont like our chances on the road against them. At least not the way we have played last two games. :icon_sad:

If we don't adjust our offense to adapt to the defenses being played agianst us right now , our chances are poor. If we do I like our chances, especially if we can figure out how to stop killing drives with innumerable illegal proceedure penalties.

Our chances are not good. UGA is playing as well as anyone in the country right now. You better believe they will remember last years game too with the UK fans strming the field after the win. The Cats will have to play their best game of year just to be in it.

To me it would almost be a victory to be able to get through the game and have no injuries so we could be at full or close to full strength againt TN.

Control the clock, dont turn the ball over....those two things will keep you in the game... We have playmakers to take it from there. Georgia played well today, but they are no tougher than LSU or Florida.....I think the Cats will play well between the hedges.

I don't know what happened for sure but when we were winning earlier and played some smackdown football with LSU I saw a team that played the game second to none. I saw a team that could play with anybody in the country. I wonder if the uF game took some starch out of the team coupled with some key injuries and we just have not been the same team. The crispness and efficiency of the offense as well as the breakdowns on the O line have me perplexed. The D was smacking every big name team squarely in the jaw and now is playing some more of that matador defense of the past. I know the skill is there. We will need it all to have a chance against UGA. They are playing with the confidence that they can not be beaten. We have to match that intensity. If not it could get ugly and that is the last thing our program needs at this stage of the retooling process. Heck we will have to play the same type og game to beat uT. They look much better than I thought they were going to be this year.

I couldn't have said it better myself, Gunsmoke. Earlier in the season, I felt good about our chances with UGa. and very good about our chances of beating ewe tee. Since that time, we seem to have regressed somewhat while the 'Dogs and ewe tee are coming on strong.

Goergia remembers what we did to them last year. Plus the reason we lose this game is because our D will face the best RB they have all season. Moreno is a load and he just flat out runs over players. Brown isn't a slouch either. Georgia wins this one by running the ball down our throats.

I think we CAN win. . . It will be tough, but I would rather play UGA at Sanford Stadium than in Commonwealth. Last year notwithstanding, the Dawgs have been a better road team under Richt than they have at home.

I am not so down on our team as some of you guys seem to be. . . The offense has not looked as crisp, but Vandy has a damn good defense. Also, key players missing chunks of time + the bye week contribute to a little rust. The O will be fine. As for the defense, you guys must not have watched the same game I did. . . I though they played extremely well in the first half -- especially in light of the fact the offense did very little. The second half performance was not great, but we still only gave up 7 points in the half. Of the 250 rushing yards, 60 or so came on one play. . . 20 more came from very well executed QB draws. The "Steel Curtain" we ain't, but our defense has performed well enough & will continue to do so.

We may have to play our best game yet, but we CAN beat Georgia. Remember that we beat the number one team in the country without even winning the turnover battle. Let us win the turnover battle in Athens, and I really like our chances. :)

Too, as we have especially seen this season, any team can win on any given Saturday. Look at some of the top ranked teams and notice how many have lost to unranked teams. Although ranked near the bottom of the top 25 ourselves, we do not have a really bad loss (as the MSU loss is not looking as bad now). In other words, I BELIEVE the evidence shows we are MOST capable of upsetting Georgia. May it happen!!! :)

I read the comments prior to this one and all of them are valid. Not much more I can add to them except I will say this much (without trying to be overly simplistic):

This UK team is the same team that during this season has beaten the #9 and #1 ranked teams in the country, as well as the defending SEC East champions on their home field.
If this team can do that, they can beat Georgia.

Aw - I'm not saying we have not chance - I just don't have high hopes for this one. On the road, Georgia with a score to settle, they are playing great football right now and we're still banged up.

Hopefully, I'm wrong. We CAN do it - but it's gonna be tough.

Assuming the Miss St. game was just a one time brain fart complicated by injuries to key players, I think the team will be ready if we have at least Little and Burton healthy for this game. Equally important is who will be healthy on defense. If we have a semi full squad we will compete. I just sense the urgency in the coaches and players that will get it done. Now we are playing an awfully good team at home, but I will be glued to the tube for sure. I think they build on the Vandy game and play up a level at UGA and up another vs ewe tee

New guy in the stands here so pardon my vent. . .
Is it just me? Have we made a 3rd down stop when we've been in the dime package (six defensive backs) all season? This kills us time and time again and I'd wish someone would realize it and keep us out of this alignment? One sole linebacker, even if it is Woodyard, can't cover the the middle of the field by himself (easy to block and/or to position with play action)and we've been burned on it so many times this year. There are few receivers in the SEC or the nation that warrant double coverage so there is no reason to be in this coverage on 3rd down. Someone explain this to me, please as I'm running out of hair to pull out!

It took a late game fumble for GA to beat V by 3. It took upteen ref calls to keep us from beating V by more than 7. Yes, GA has improved since then, but not outrageously so. I think the 7.5-8.0 pts we're getting are generous. GBB!

I remember a time in this season where two of the arguably best backs in the nation at Arkansas ran 338 yards against Kentucky and we still won 42-29. We can do it, it just seems that Woodson has not been himself lately. Ever since the Florida game. We need to light a fire under his but and make him realize that even though we may not go to the SEC championship, we are STILL in it!!! Now lets go out there and whoop some Bulldog Tail!!!:widcat:

I agree with poodoo. If we are even or ahead in the turnovers our chances are very good.

I especially like the fact that we are in better shape injury-wise than when we played Florida and LSU. Woodson, Burton, Steve Johnson, Lyons, Little, Locke, etc. should give UGA a lot to worry about this week.

Georgia has had four very good games recenty. They are due for another clunker like UT or South Carolina.

They could beat us. But I'm not afraid of them! As a matter of fact, I respect most teams in the SEC, but none of them are as scary to me this year. That has more to do with this year's Cats than it does the other teams. It has been since the days of Fran Curci that I have felt this good about a team. I believe!

If they follow that pattern this week against us between the two 'tough' opponents (Auburn and Ga Tech) we will beat them and maybe soundly.

I am not so down on our team as some of you guys seem to be. . . The offense has not looked as crisp, but Vandy has a damn good defense.

As a matter of fact, if you look at the national stats, Vandy's D is rated a couple of notches above Georgia.
